Famous for canals, tax evasion, and now unlikely World Cup qualification:

...with help from this ball boy:

And hats. And Roberto Duran. Errrrr.

Looked more like a sub than a ball-bay, but that sort of thing is always funny.

The hoops are too thin and don't go all the way around the pitch, therefore, they are stripes.

Boooooooooooooooooooooooo.

Panama' first goal should not count, it did not cross the line! How about this "ghost goal of God" that gifted them a first World Cup appearance, and denied the USA? So wrong

England are bound to be drawn against Panama in their World Cup group. They will tough out and struggle a dreary 0-0 draw or worse, lose. Mr Southgate, a media mauling awaits you. It's written in the script!

There aint half been some clever bastards.

Having previously lived in Panama for a few years a I couldn't be more delighted. Four years ago they looked like qualifying but let in two late goals against the USA to get knocked out. Will be great to give a positive imagine of Panama and Panamanians after having their reputation destroyed by the Panama Leaks. And I mean by that the ordinary, party-loving, incredibly diverse, and generally struggling Panamanians that you see in their support (the 'red wave' or 'marea roja'), not the well-off elite behind the scandal.
