Mine was against Brentford 1961 2-2 draw I think.
All I can remember is it pissing down all afternoon, getting soaked with wet feet as puddles covered the duckboards on the Griffin Park half way line and Bedford scoring 2 goals.

as for Hayes I used to follow them a bit when I was teenager as I had mates who used to go to mellowlane school , they were the millwall of non league football , especially in their FA cup runs to say they were eventful would be an understatement , the games against Cardiff, Peterborough, Fulham and Crawley were very lively |  |

1955 my Primary school Coverdale nearby loftus road were giving away free tickets for the west london v harrow schools final and while there I noticed Rs were at home the following Sat at home to Northampton town and after being 2-0 down the Rs came back to win 3-2.... yeah I was hooked on Qpr and football that was 1955-56 season.... adding to that I even watched 3 games on a good friday in the fifties.. Fulham v barnsley 11am... Chelsea v Blackpool 3pm and finally in the evening Qpr v Ummm forget ... nowadays I would not be able to afford all the match programs for the games now... let alone the admission fees | | | |

The Hopwood family from Northolt took me to my first ever Rangers game - against Brighton Reserves; we stood in the School End. I went expecting Stan Bowles and got Ron Abbot. I should have known.
The reason I mention the family name is that my friend's dad owned either a plumbing or electrical company and used to have an advertising hoarding more or less next to the directors box (that's how I remember it). There is a photo in one of our old programmes showing this clearly, but I'm buggered if I can find it. Something along the lines of Hopwood and Sons - followed by the job title. It would have been around 1972-3ish.
