its a strong side, few thoughts:
delighted to see manning get a start
matt smith is an ox- do we really think he has it in him to play 90 minutes after he played essentially 90 against derby and again last Saturday? jedinak and villas experienced CBs did a great job containing him in the home fixture
I think it would have been very brave, but I would have liked to see Samuel get the start in smiths place... he has the mobility to pressure villas backline in possession (which smith totally lacks)... and as villa creeps up the pitch, he provides a good coutnerattcking option
also, don't think anyones expecting anything from this result, so would be a good opportunity to let a kid get some minutes | | | |
