Been offline a lot recently buying and moving house but this is one potential signing I can give report on.
Very good footballer who plays deep midfield mopping up in front of CBs and linking with more attack minded midfielders.

Pros - neat, tidy and cool with the ball under pressure. His ball retention this season has been remarkably good and he is reading the game really well sensing danger and loose passing by opposition.

Cons - Bit on the small side although not a weak player on the pitch he can lose possession with an odd slack pass per game which he has tightened up on but is still guilty of and they do lead to chances on goal due to field position these happen. Kind of accepted by Hibs fans as he is viewed as a high class player and his contribution overall is greater than these mistakes, would another club with less tolerant support give enough slack for him to bed in?
I say that purely as a new signing of what would be considered an experienced player, his maturing was done at Hibs and in 2nd tier so got an easier spell.

Biggest 'concern' would be his general fitness and durability. He spent months at Hibs on the treatment table with groin and muscular problems in his Hibs career until this his last season on contract, this season with Lennon alluding to a 'confidence/mental issues (much as Klopp did with Sturridge) he seen a specialist in London and has barely missed a beat and when he has been out of the team the odd time the difference has been palpable.
If he's fit I'd say he's definitely good enough for top half Championship and we're all sad to see him leave Hibs, which he does with best wishes from everyone. He had a very tearful walk around the ground away from the rest of the players at the end of season walk about with Sunshine on Leith belted out. Very emotional.
He was also a regular at U20 games supporting his younger colleagues and our son got his photo with him no problem, very friendly lad so good around the club I'm sure

Cheers karl - surely wed only be looking to sign if someone is on their way though? That's one area of the pitch feels like we're overly blessed with good players.

Bare bones.

Would think so Anti, although he does do a good bit of link play in the attacking third he doesn't finish anything off and is an area of game he could definitely improve.
May be seen as a cheap wage with no transfer fee that could replace a current player with saleable value? As with any player coming from current SPL I'd be cautious thinking he would have the strength to do that, his team mate John McGinn would have this power but needs to tighten up on his technical skills. A combination of McGeouch and McGinn would be a great player! McGinn still under contract and think he'd be in the £2-4m bracket Imo so probably outside the good value bracket Les will be targetting?

£2m - £4m for a Scottish player?

Give over. The only one worth that is Tierney, and he's Manx.

Good to see you back on-line, Karl

Mr Sheen, he is Glaswegian so his 25yrs will put him in the middle aged bracket. I hope they checked for rickets in the medical

Sounds like the type of player we lack, even Scowen is to attack minded, our defence wasn’t great but was often left exposed by the midfield, we need a dog in CM, a proper DM, someone a bit taller than we currently have though.

He is more defence minded but is quite small built and is not a hard tackling dog, reads play and nips in front of players anticipating passes and screening waiting for break of ball etc.
For balance he has played his best when left to do this job on his own and certainly when played longside Marvin Bartley they kind of get in each other's way but Marv has nowhere near the ball playing ability of Dylan. I will say that against big physical teams like Hearts I like Marvs no nonsense strength alongside Dylan and with the extra physicality in English Champ that is a consideration

Not as aggressive/combative perhaps but that would be something I think he'll need to pick up to make a success in that role so if he added that then that could be a player to emulate?
His long range passing isn't as good but all the close work is lovely to watch

so according to our Scottish correspondent, he's small, injury prone, weak tackling and can only pass it short.

Me thinks that Karl doesn't want him to leave Hibs!

And he's still one of Scotland's better players.....
I'm not selling this very well!
I was comparing his passing to Ale so high standards to achieve, he's a good professional so I think he will set higher targets and at the right club will do well.
Please stay at Hibs Dylan! Would be delighted if he joined the Rs honestly!!

I can't see us being the highest bidder out of four Championship clubs.

Karl was he the fella in the face mask on sunday ? if so he looks a tidy little player the sort we should be after ,

And Bowles is onside, Swinburne has come rushing out of his goal , what can Bowles do here , onto the left foot no, on to the right foot That’s there that’s two, and that’s Bowles Brian Moore

That's him PP, got an accidental head in the face v Aberdeen and we haven't been the same since, unfortunately for the push to get 2nd in league

Neat and tidy player from what I saw Karl , I like the whole of Hibs midfield especially Allan who has a bit of bite about him despite being a ball player ,
ive been impressed with Hibs & Aberdeen this year both seem to be improving and entertaining

Agreed, though it may suggest they're expecting bids for some of the existing ones. Maybe our reigning Player of the Year Massimo Luongo?

Scott Allan has had a bagful of clubs (Scottish and English) and for some reason it always goes wrong and he is accused of having a bad attitude but in his two spells at Hibs he plays great football, works hard and adds great flair to the team. Why is it?
Has been alluded to that with his diabetes he runs out of steam at a different time to others and he has said Hibs have been the only club who have managed his condition in a way to get him performing to his best, he's been at some big clubs and it seems daft to think they haven't thought about his health and managing him better.
What is significant is that he gets subbed off in most games around the 65-75 min mark regardless of whether he is the best or worst player on the pitch.
Sad that we could possibly lose all three of our current midfield this summer, all Scots and under 25, we've had great entertainment from them.

Good one Hoopdog

Pronouncing it is easy but a beggar to spell

Ma gee ock, in a Scottish accent of course
For spelling reasons its recommended the club have just one player on the books called Dylan
