Just back from what was a shocking game!
All about fitness so not reading anything into it but considering we had a full strength line-up, I did think we would play better than we did. Was difficult to see who was the league 1 side.
Most concerning thing for me is that we may be relying on the same players who are already known to most of us as the weaker players. Washington again the usual, trying hard but missing a 1 on 1. Lynch, the usual clumsiness and long goods to nobody. Lack of quality at the back really looks apparent to me.
Thought the new signing looked decent, not the fastest but solid. Bidwell probably our best player. Ingram made some excellent saves but unsure on his distribution and claiming crosses.
Thought we looked better once smyth and pav came on, finally started to look more positive going forward.
Understand it's all about fitness but without smithies and bed, possibly Luongo if he leaves, I do feel we are quite a lot weaker than last year and can see us struggling, mainly because of the defence. Hoping one or 2 signings will come in to ease the concerns |  | | |  |

One thing though was he was getting very peeed off at the negative passes players not passing forwards prefering to pass back or not pick the more progressive pass.
Having never sat near the dugout not sure if this is what Olly or any manager would have wanted but some players definitely not playing like he wants |  |

Highlights. Our kit looks like the pink face on the front of a Bassetts Alsorts bag.
Ingram makes some astonishing reflex saves.
Connor has learnt from his mistakes and in 1 on 1s now hits the ball straight at the keeper. :)
Eze glides around doing cool stuff.
Bidwell looks like a different player these days.
Smith gets bundled to the ground and I am now guessing that unless he is shot by a sniper and it's looked at 10 times on VAR that he will never ever get a penalty. [Post edited 14 Jul 2018 23:48]

The most talkative manager I've heard from the front row of the West Paddock was Warnock in his first few months, who spent large chunks of every game shouting very explicit instructions to every player about where they should be and what they should be doing. That stopped early in the promotion season, when they were fully drilled. I remember being very impressed with how certain he was about what every player's job was. | | | |

AFC beat Reading 4-2 recently.
So, I suspect the players were trying to avert an embarrassing loss to a team that was well up for a higher division scalp.
Although in the highlights it seemed to me that AFC did not press the ball and we were a bit casual in our attacking play.
We still need a young upcoming CB and a striker to replace Washout. If we get a CB in, we can possibly force Winter Leech out. Leaving Baps and Hall as cover. Even Furlong moving inside if we get desperate.
First 5 games will be really tough for us. We shall be lucky to get 6pts. If we do that will do for those tough games.
