Cup is as good as coming home. I'd be surprised if we didn’t end up winning it.

If we win that it will be our longest cup run in any competition since... when?

The United FA Cup quarter final in the mid nineties?

Think we got to the 3rd round a couple of years ago when the legendary Sandro made it his personal mission to win it in our golden jubilee year. Sadly, some bloke from Sunderland, who had never score before or since, bagged 2 to send us packing

I hope they open the upper loft this time as the view from south Africa road stand is pretty poor.
This week the lower loftwas open and the upper loft stewarded so why not open it. C'mon r's

Excited by this, first competitve match v The Gas in nearly 40 years. Don’t really have a second team but being from the West Country and despising Bristol City this is as close as it’s gets. Shame Ollie isn’t here for this one.

The way things are shaping up I'll be cross if we haven't won it by a Christmas to he honest.

I've got a big soft spot for the gas and we used to have pretty close links. They'll bring a fair crowd along for a midweeker, it would be good if we have a decent crowd, could be a good atmosphere.

A magnificent football club, the love of our lives, finding a way to finally have its day in the sun.

I would think there will be a couple of thousand Gasheads in attendence. They may even sell out the away end.

More than there will be City fans four days earlier!

Poor old Konk must be wondering where his allegiance lies for this mouthwatering tie.

Did I ever mention that I was in Minder?

I have a vague recollection of a warm Tuesday August evening watching Rangers stuff Rovers 4-0 in 1980, the last time they visited us.

Pretty sure Dean Neal and Wayne Fereday made their debuts that night and Dean Neal scored two.

I remember all that but the last ten years are a blur to me.

Their away support at LR has always been tremendous, a fair few years ago we had them at home on an evening game and as usual they had a big turn out and as always sang to their hearts content 'Goodnight Irene' they made that song their own, fair play to them.

My Father had a profound influence on me, he was a lunatic.

My main memory is seeing "QPR will die" sprayed on a corrugated metal fence outside our away end.

Did I ever mention that I was in Minder?

I like the Gas. They've had on-off plans to move to a new stadium and then to do up the Memorial for about 15 years. I popped into "Gaschat" and every third thread is a stadium thread. Clive would have lost his shít long ago.

A magnificent football club, the love of our lives, finding a way to finally have its day in the sun.

Almost. 17 year old Fereday did make his debut and was the one that bagged a brace. Don Shanks and Bob Hazell got the other two. I think Rovers got relegated that season.
