Post any one of your eight Desert Island Discs. Only one per post for arrowing purposes. Eight posts not just allowed, but encouraged.

I haven't decided on my full eight yet, but this is definitely one of them.

That rare thing, humorous lyrics paired with excellent music. The way the guitar, bass and drums complement each other is something to behold and it could be argued that with this tune, Primus created a new genre, hillbilly hard rock. Ridiculous and ridiculously good, all at the same time...

Good one.

For some reason reminds me of this. Underrated band.

Number four coming up and here's a track which inspired many a speed metal band. But wait, don't pass by on the other side, it is worth it for the moody slow section alone! Surely the best thing ever to come out of Wales?

Need to have an Ian Dury track to keep you laughing - who else could squeeze Yvonne Goolagong into a song?

Great thread; thank you.

Played at the great man's funeral, always brings a tear to the eye. Every note is perfect.

Love my team.

That would rattle my Top 8. Incredible track, and my favourite one by Rory.

Man, I am running short of choices - good thing too, I hear you cry - but here's my in no way diminished fifth. Senescent rock fans may find themselves overcome by a tidal wave of nostalgia.

A bit of a half-hearted performance, don't you think? Surely the bloke could manage to play at least three brass instruments all at once? Very poor

Wasn't he incredible? So engaging, yet humble, honest, a great singer and a musician who blended together blues, folk and rock to create something utterly magical.

I feel a bit guilty for not including anything by him .

Very good, but I’d have picked Philadelphia. McGeoch was superb with Siouxsie and the Banshees too.

Indeed he was. And I agree, it was a toss up between Philadelphia and Because You're Frightened.

The people who included Vitas Gerulaitas in a song title?

The grass is always greener.

I was 14 when that came out. It blew my mind when I first heard it. But then again there are some proper muso's in that band.

Now we are six and this one is not some massive band everyone, or most of you, know but a collection of amateur musicians from Ipswich who manage to create inventive - and distinctive - instrumental rock music which is sometimes symphonic, sometimes eerie and haunting. It's East Anglian folklore and myths set to music. I think they deserve a plug, particularly as their guitarist actually bothered to respond when I sent him a message on Twitter
