Rotherham match thread on 20:12 - Nov 27 with 2643 views | Hunterhoop | Absolute amateur hour at the back so far. Rangel is having a nightmare. They're a big side, but it looks like we don't know how to defend set pieces and have never played in wet conditions before. Freeman is also almost constantly too narrow to offer Bidwell an out ball when we have possession. Everything going down our right because Pav hugs the touchline as soon as we gain possession. Eze needs to be better on the ball and start running at them not holding it up.

They play like the new Stoke
Rotherham match thread on 20:26 - Nov 27 with 2174 views | s1cRanger | Think we might need to go 2 up front second half to get anything here... try an attacking formation rather than the counter that usually works away from home. We have the better players overall so just need to show some of that skill and experience

Rotherhams game based around a series of (very well rehearsed) set plays, with a touch of Preston like shithousery.
Rotherham match thread on 20:30 - Nov 27 with 2042 views | plasmahoop | A couple of minutes ago we were on 63 percent possession, which goes to show again possession stats aren't always relevant. We've not done much with it so far. Im not sure how this will pan out. Could see us losing 4 1, or winning 3 2
Rotherham match thread on 20:32 - Nov 27 with 1970 views | Jigsore | McClaren needs to be proactive with his subs for once, force Rotherham to change their game. Bright for Pav and maybe Scowen on too

This. We need to get a grip in midfield and stop playing into their hands. I'd be surprised if we have 11 on the pitch by the end of the game - Bids and Pav looking most likely.

I agree, but then so do we. Not sure what it is, but our back 4 looks like it’s playing on an ice rink. Cameron is getting caught too high up the pitch and can’t get back goal side, which is exposing our chronically slow back 4. And everyone else keeps miscontrolling it. Weather not helping us, and certainly helping their long ball, fall to the floor style. We need the next goal so they stop that shithousery and push forward. Can do them at the other end that way. Still think 3-1 or 4-1 is more likely than 2-2 or 2-3, mins. We just don’t look on it.

Except we’ve managed 4 points from two games with a half to go in this one. So it’s not quite as bad but I take your point. Thr flipside is we look a lot more capable of scoring than at the start of the season. Maybe something to do with the balance between defence and attack. The ball certainly seems to stick up top better with Hemed.

He's still not done a lot though, Tom... Rangel at fault for first goal, Cameron lost his man for the second. Rangel having a generally poor game, Birdwell might well get a red if he stays on. If Furs is on the bench, give him game time at RB with Rangel going to LB. We have looked a tough team recently with the Lynch - Leistner - Cameron combo in our spine, but they are a physical bunch, aren't they we look pretty puny next to them... Need to stop giving away free kicks in crossable areas and need to keep the ball. Wells running lots, but giving it away cheap up there. Hate to roll out the clichés, but the next goal will decide this game...
