A player criminally underused last season - so glad we kept him, he'd of been well within his rights to up stix and do one (esp after missing out on getting into a terrible Polish World Cup squad)

I think there's plenty room for improvement as well. For instance, I thought his final ball was poor on a few crucial occasions and I also thought he tired. Both of those issues will improve as he gets more games.

If Messi's best ever game is the template for a 10, then 9 is incredible and rarely-seen, and 8 is excellent. 7 is a very good score. That's as high as I'd go.

One week on and quibbling over 7 or 8. We all have our opinions and they don't differ by very much. However, he could have been booked twice by many refs. That and other errors were what made me conclude a 7.
Would you have given him an eight if he had been sent off with say 20 minutes to go? | | | |
