Is Eze the new Taarabt? 15:34 - Dec 22 with 6537 viewsDylanP

Is Eze the new Taarabt? I find myself too often frustrated and only occassionally impressed with a flash of great play. The feeling reminds me of watching Taarabtm except that Taarabt was more extreme in both how frustrating he was and how utterly brilliant his flashes were. Of course, Eze is still a very young player, so he's still developing, but I can't help feeling that too often he is not being aggressive enough to live up to the potential.

Eze... humble, keen to get get on, loves being here, grasped his chance

So nothing like Adel who is still the BEST player I’ve seen in the hoops on a regular basis.

However, Eze will be more suited to the modern game
He’s pure class
Got vision
Bit of smarts about him
Yeah, sometimes, only sometimes mind, the work rate could be upped but.....
As he matures he’ll get better and better and better and better

Enjoy while you can

Cherish and enjoy life.... this ain't no dress rehearsal

Had to say it but today he was the weakest link , not much effort in chasing down the ball , fell way to easily , don’t remeber a tackle from him , and when he had a gilt edge chance to pas to wells in the second half he kept the ball to long , think he needs a rest looks knackered in the last few games

There are similarities, but Adel could have played for any team in the world whereas Eze is just a talented player.

He was absolutely awful yesterday, though. Desperately needs to learn to pass more firmly.

Never mind, everybody has bad games.

Dylan I’m going to save this post and remind you of it come the appropriate time.

The kid has special talents and will be a special player.

Because I said I’d bring this post back - after the way Eze played today - some of you on this thread owe the lad an apology. And need to retire for judging the quality of a player. He has, does and always will ooze top top class.

The most talented player we’ve produced since Les Ferdinand (unless you count Sterling)

Let's not start this, folks. Let's just enjoy the fact that we have a fine player in the Hoops (capital H quite rightly).

Bloomin heck, must remember to read the dates on these posts. Can see where Dylan may have been coming from last Xmas (although still 'kin harsh due to Ebs' age and maturity then); if this was a thread started today, I would have called the men in the white coats in!

Can we go out yet?

Long time I've scorned at comparisons between the two. Adel was routinely unplayable. Today changed my mind. eze was outstanding, and I've seen him been outstanding before but not like that. Today he was on par with the best of adel. Brilliant.

If not actually disgruntled, he was far from being gruntled. PG Wodehouse

Watch the goal Wegerle scores against Leeds all those years ago and then watch the way Eze gets around players. Very similar way of playing.

Never knowingly right.

I liked Taraabt. I love Eze.

He doesn't have the Zidane like ability that Adel occasionally showed but for me he he is like watching what Roy Wegerle would have been like if he played midfield.

Very much reminds me of Wegerle. An excellent display today

To be fair to Dylan, his OP was a musing from during the first half. I didn't see it as moaning.

I would hate to see him moaning then.

Good spot. Very similar.

Eze is great, but not on the same level.

There is zero chance of Eze playing for AC Milan, unless i'm very much mistaken. If Taarabt was faster and fitter, with a good work rate, he'd have been competing with Messi and Ronaldo...

My ST neighbour brought a Benfica fan to the Blackburn game, and says Taarabt has been immense for them this season after 3 years of Kebab filled drek.

For any scouts reading this - yes, this is exactly what it is.

Bare bones.

Yes, Eze is far too lazy, injury prone, and disruptive to be of any value to anyone really.
