He looked and sounded like someone who'd been told to go and sit outside the headmaster's office. His fear was palpable. It might just be the media stuff he doesn't like, but if he transmits that terror to the players on Saturday, Norwich are going to put 10 past us. Reluctant as I am to indulge in 10 Cent psychology, he kept shaking his head when he was making positive statements........... as in "We prepare properly for every game" *Shaking head as he speaks*.........
‘morbid curiosity about where this is all going’

Yep, can't imagine much motivation going on there. Unless we can go 7-0 up in the first 5 minutes, I reckon we are going to struggle big time. Let's not guess the final score, but guess the time of their first goal.
I reckon 4 minutes and then we'll all adopt the Clockwork Orange method of sitting through the ultra violence that will be bestowed on us for the next 86 minutes.
I really wish I had something else to do on Saturday rather than watch the game...
No offence to the guy, but it was a little dull. Very diplomatic and uninspiring. It's why at least somebody with a bigger personality, i.e. Sherwood, at least won't be so cowed by the situation. A bigger name doesn't mean the guy is any good, but it probably commands a little more respect from the players, which is probably equally if not more important than being any good.
Summary of interview
'Would you like the job full-time? No, just preparing for Saturday. Too busy being respectful. Lads different class.' 'Yes, but you must be hoping to get lucky and build up momentum, maybe get the job full-time? 'No, just preparing for Saturday. Very respectful, lads different class.' 'How did it go with Steve? 'I respect him, different class, preparing for Saturday.' 'How about Norwich? 'We respect them, preparing for Saturday.'
My answer probably would be more like 'Yes, i'd bloody love it. Hoping we win every match.'
Anyway, good luck John, don't think i'm won't be cheering you on, because i certainly will be.

My answer would be:
"I'm shtting myself to be honest. After Norwich stick eight past us in the first half, I'll be lucky if I get a job selling programmes at the club."

Even so it’s a job interview of sorts for him , look interested and upbeat ffs , if I interviewed someone as boring as that I wouldn’t of got past question 3
And Bowles is onside, Swinburne has come rushing out of his goal , what can Bowles do here , onto the left foot no, on to the right foot
That’s there that’s two, and that’s Bowles

I wasn't trying to stick up for him.
I've found most of the club's media output a bit sht this season.

The more I think about it the worse it gets. The mint green training gear (the pink shirts I can just about live with), the boring interviews, the chariots of fire like pre-season slow motion videos, the mostly crap half-time entertainment like kicking balls into wheelie bins. Steve McCaren. I could go on...
The lack of humour.
We all want the club to do well attract new fans etc. This isn't the way.
