Young Master Boston has been offered a job down there. Still a decent enough place to live and work etc?

dover is a bit of a strange place imho, bit down on its heels and a transient feel. Really like Deal, just up the road, though.

I'm a Deal man and think Dover has seen much better days and wouldn't recommend it as a place to live. The surrounds are ok but expensive now that the trains to London have improved.

it depends on the type of work I suppose as to wether you can live well away from the town.

Big issue down there with DHSS and migrants from what I hear.... quite tense

Mate lives along the coast in Walmer which is nice

Cherish and enjoy life.... this ain't no dress rehearsal

Doesn't do any harm to work in a place like that for a year or 2 IMO if the job is the right one - get some experience under your belt and you don't have to stay there the rest of your life. Close enough to nicer/more interesting places for your time off. Assuming he's renting it's not as though he can't move on easily enough - he just doesn't want to get stuck in a rut there.

I’ve lived in Dover for over 16 years and for me it’s like most places In the UK as in it’s got its dodgy parts but it’s also got it’s beautiful spots.

Sure the town is rough but there’s so much to Dover than that as the countryside is simply stunning.

As for the immigration issues, this is a sore subject to me, yes we have asylum seekers who cause ABSOLUTELY no bother whatsoever, the only grief I’ve ever had down here is with the English so take from that what you want.

Saying that some of the nicest people I’ve ever met have been dovervarians.

If you want any other advice please feel free to DM me.

After much contemplation, young master Boston has opted for a job in Exeter. His initial thoughts about the place are very positive. Take his word, I’ve never been there.
