Yes RIP Freddie. His Rod Stewart We Are Sailing sketch is still funny now.

Never knowingly right.

Anyone see him on Parky when he made Muhammad Ali jump out of his skin?

As said above, not everyone’s cup of Darjeeling, but was of the 70s and simpler times.

I was in a shop yesterday and said to the wife, Freddie Starr has died. An old lady within earshot said, oh no, Fred Astaire died years ago.

Oh dear, just seen this☹️ Was watching a few of his interviews a couple of days ago, he scared the bejesus out of everyone. My favourite sketch was a mere twenty seconds in length, punch line “you dirty dirty rat”!

I always remember him doing his Hitler impression in wellies at Wembley before the FA cup final.
I always thought that was in the '70s but Mr. Google has just informed me that it was 1984 when Everton beat Watford. Makes sense with Freddie being a scouser but my brain cannot connect this memory to a final played 2 years after ours... WEIRD...

He did it before westham v Fulham 1975, it’s one of the earliest finals I remember watching.

Actually, that was the day we got our first ever color T.V. And yes my Mum did stand there cooing and crowing over how green the Wembley turf was ...

edit...Thinking about it I can still remember Bobby Stokoe's Sunderland beating Leeds. I remember the fans outside Wembley giving predictions . Many 2 and 3 nils from Lids fans...

I’m 52, the first final I have any memory of is the 1974 Liverpool v Newcastle but the 75 final iss the first one that I can remember watching all the odd match build up, it’s a knockout, on the coach to Wembley etc.
First time I watched it in colour was 1976 Bobby Stokes for Southampton v Man Utd

Didn’t Stan boardman do a German hitler routine on Man Utd’s coach in 85 ? Big Ron was a big fan of him

And Bowles is onside, Swinburne has come rushing out of his goal , what can Bowles do here , onto the left foot no, on to the right foot That’s there that’s two, and that’s Bowles Brian Moore
