Charlie Austin 12:31 - Jul 17 with 8240 viewsloftboy

Yes I know we can’t afford him but ............... he’s being forced to train with the under 23’s, surely a deal is to be had where we can pay what’s in our budget and the saints pay the rest? Gets him game time and possibly a move in January after he’s banged in a hat full for us. Highly improbable but would certainly solve our striking situation (until January at least)

Has he been a naughty boy?

Did I ever mention that I was in Minder?

I think in the coming days he will either be a Aston Villa, Sheff United or Norwich player.

We simply can not afford him and there will plenty of clubs interested to ensure Saints get a good deal and do not have to lose any money

Poll: Of the 3 linked away, who do you think will still be a QPR player come February?

Great 5 or 6 years ago. He'll be on the treatment table all season with Wallace, cameron and Rangel.

Whenever I've seen him, he's looked nothing like the player he was for us, slower and heavier? Would be ok just as a physical striker who would still be able to win the ball in the box and score a few but would need some good service.

From the Sun;

Austin, 30, launched his dressing-room tirade after being told he would not travel with the first team during pre-season.

He has been left to train with the Under-23s as Saints chiefs try to offload him – but the ex-Burnley forward wants to stay.

And fed-up Austin made his feelings known to Austrian Hasenhuttl, with one shocked team-mate admitting: “We had never seen anything like it.”

The striker snubbed a move to West Brom, claiming he wanted to spend the last year of contract at Saints.

Premier League new-boys Aston Villa are also interested in signing him.

My Father had a profound influence on me, he was a lunatic.

Doesn't mind a rant...

From what I can tell his ambition in life was to play for Saints and to be involved in racing. They'll claw that contract from his cold dead hands

Palace should sign him.

It might be he will just sit and see out his contract.
Cheeky buggers want 8 million they have hardly improved him.
I wonder if we had a sell on clause when he left ?

Left us for £4million hardly played for Saints now worth £8 million Premiership rules I suppose

Austin will see his contract out and get the move he wants, did the same at Burnley and with us. i reckon he'll end up on loan at one of the top Championship sides

From the rumours and that is all it is, Austin seems to be mainly interested in playing for a southern club I assume this is solely for his family and racing connections. Obviously that leaves him with plenty of choice still, Palace may be a good fit for him

If he’d never played for QPR:

Ageing, injury prone, too expensive and an attitude problem.

Pretty sure we forked out 4m for Austin. Didn't get him on a free.

Is this the 3rd or 4th manager who hasn't rated Austin - has to be a reason one of the best (still) career goals per minute men doesn't play much.

For a start off. When it was obvious he was on his way out of Loftus Road. He basically put himself on the sick list for the last few weeks and didn't play. Fast forward to a transfer to Southampton and hey presto all fit and well again.

Charlie Austin on 19:01 - Jul 17 with 3489 viewsDannytheR

Nope.

He spent his last half season here at walking pace, looking like he was about to get his phone out and check the racing at any given moment, and that was when he was two stone lighter, four years younger and trying to get a move to the Premiership.

I make daveB right. Can see him spending the season at Cardiff or Fulham as his contract ticks down.
