Funnily enough I was listening to Al Murray on "Great Lives" about Montgomery today. Apparently before WW1 when he was in India there was a state visit by a German prince. A football match was fixed between Monty's regiment and the sailors of the German warship which the prince was travelling on. Monty was put in charge of the English team and was told to go easy for diplomacy's sake.
He picked the best XI he could possibly find, trained them within an inch of their lives, told them not to give the bastards an inch and won 40-0.
Sounds a bit like that for Southampton.

Leicester have 1 point more at this stage that when they won the league, being how Liverpool love to mess it up, would be amazing if they won it again.
Bad enough losing that way at home but then to have your record defeat broadcast Live to the nation is quite another thing. Felt sorry for the Saints fans having to endure that in a tropical downpour. Then you consider the people who work behind the scenes who love the club feeling let down by the players.
Oh well they now have two away games to get over it away to ruthless Man City what can go wrong?
