Hope loads of QPR supporters greet him and buy his book on Saturday in the club shop before the Middlesbrough match. Not quite old enough to have seen him on the flesh but seen many videos and heard what a speedy winger he was. I am certainly going to order his book.

He was my favourite player, No Stan was, no Dave was, etc etc.

He was a serious, serious player, as cool as fugg, and I've certainly never seen a winger as good as him since.

Anyone who has not seen the cover of the 1976 book, 'Facts about a football club, featuring QPR', should, this says it all about Dave Thomas.

Best winger Ive ever seen. Was as competent with his left foot as he was with his right. Best crosser of the ball ever.

My eldest Son is christened Dave Thomas for a reason.

Shin pads my arse.

My Father had a profound influence on me, he was a lunatic.

'Shin pads my arse'.

That's weird for middle names.

The clearest memory I have of watching Dave Thomas at the Bush is a the 5-1 home defeat on his return with Everton.

He looked bloody marvelous that day.

Hmm, a genius winger with Bob Latchford on the other end...

Couldn't ask for more really.

Goals:
Duncan McKenzie
Bob Latchford
Bob Latchford

Oh, and that other geezer.

How depressing your most vivid memory of DT is his starring role in our hammering by Everton and Latchford in 1976/77. (He turned in a few rather eyecatching performances the previous season, when we were quite good, I believe.)

Lickle Jack Gwealish models his no shin pad look on Dave.

It's being so happy that keeps me going.

That was my first ever game.

I only got to see Dave Thomas play for us on the telly.

Brilliant brilliant player.

For those of us of a certain age that was the first day of the rest of our lives. We didnt know it then but it was the day the music died

Lovely interview with Dave on Radio 4 just now. Made me feel quite emotional and looking forward even more to my trip to London.

I can still remember seeing a newspaper headline board outside a newsagents in Northfields Ealing where I was living at the time saying QPR sign Thomas I bought a paper and was amazed we had signed him My thought was we are going places now What a great player he was

I remember away at Wolves an amazing 70 yard dash down the wing and cross for a goal for Stan or Mick Leach can't remember

Loverly interview with Dave on the pitch at half time very good to hear such a good response from the crowd for a true QPR legend. Well done Dave on a great cause he got quite emotional at the reception he got.

Good response from the Boro fans too.

It's always noisiest at the shallow end

Apologies for the chronological slip - I stand corrected. Still depressing you mostly remember him for running riot against us, though.

Eh? Take a look at my avatar. And by the way you're confusing me with izlington hoop who mentioned the 5-1 Everton thrashing or with someone who gives a fück about what you think.

Where I sit in the South Africa Rd stand we can't hear a bloody thing when they conduct the interviews on the pitch at half time.
The acoustics are dreadful. Have been like it for years.

It would be nice if these interviews with ex players were shown on the QPR website the following week.

What a goal. Was Parkes usually that accurate with his throws, I wonder? I saw him play many times but slightly too young to remember details.

Giving a f*ck what people think kind of goes with the territory of a message board for most people. If you disagree, why not go write your posts on a blackboard in your outside bog?
