Can anyone recommend a good video editing software? I’m going to get some 8mm film converted to digital but would like to edit it to make individual DVD’s for relatives… Don't care if it costs a bit as long as the results are good...Cheers RH

two questions o a realted subject:

as these free? and do they do go pro editing? the free go pro software crashes a lot!

Why stop now, just when I'm hating it

If you're using a Mac, a lot of friends in the business use Final Cut Pro - you can get a free trial... https://www.apple.com/uk/final-cut-pro/

I often use Filmora on my Mac for quick cutting. They bought Media 100 so it is basically that interface, which is very easy and user friendly.

F*cking appalling customer service but it's about £45 a year and pretty good value.

Never knowingly right.

Look at the cut-down version of Adobe Premiere Pro: Premiere Rush. Works on Mac/Win/iOS and Android. The free version allows up to 3 exports (I think). Unlimited exports requires an Adobe Creative Cloud license.

If you have a Mac don’t discount iMovie - it’s pretty powerful considering the easy to use UI.

If you’re not looking to do anything complicated and just chop up footage and splice it together on a Mac then iMovie is plenty good enough and simple to use and just a one off fee.

I’d avoid anything from Adobe (ie Premiere) as it’s going to be expensive, a monthly fee, and overkill for simple editing (unless you can get a hooky version)
