Guess they thought they just needed a new voice to motivate and not a change in style/squad. Might not be a disaster, possibly the kind of effective mediocrity to get them into the play-offs, but more likely they'll slowly bleed away money until it's like promotion never happened.

There's a school of thought that apart from in utterly dire circumstances, you don't sack a manager unless you have a decent idea of a replacement being available/gettable.

Sure, but really more often than not a downward spiral after a season of getting beat doesn't tend to stop just because the quality of opposition drops a level. Bad associations, bad habits and players just stop listening. Perversely if it was Warnock coming in now to replace Harris they'd probably go on a run. | | | |
