I tell you what, I think if I gave you all 10 guesses each no one would get it.

Neil Harris!

I mean, it's not Dave Hockaday landing the Leeds job, but jesus christ, how the hell did he get that gig?

Bare bones.

Guess they thought they just needed a new voice to motivate and not a change in style/squad. Might not be a disaster, possibly the kind of effective mediocrity to get them into the play-offs, but more likely they'll slowly bleed away money until it's like promotion never happened.

Wall did well to upgrade to Rowett when they did.

There's a school of thought that apart from in utterly dire circumstances, you don't sack a manager unless you have a decent idea of a replacement being available/gettable.
Imagine going 'This isn't working out for Warnock, but Neil Harris has been sacked by Millwall after playing some utterly dire football for 18 months, and we could get him? Shall we sack off the guy who got us promoted against all odds and get him instead?'

Bare bones.

Having watched a bit of Cardiff this season, at least they don't have to change their dire style of football with the new boss. Its like the agricultural equivalent of clubs like Watford who appoint managers based on an existing philosophy

Who knows what goes on at a FC sometimes AH?

Not really explained why NW left, hopefully NOT related to the health of his wife.

As for NH. also comes down to who is available/prepared to live there/accept the salary on offer.

So many factors, many more that we can't even guess at as well I reckon!

Sure, but really more often than not a downward spiral after a season of getting beat doesn't tend to stop just because the quality of opposition drops a level. Bad associations, bad habits and players just stop listening. Perversely if it was Warnock coming in now to replace Harris they'd probably go on a run.

Is he that bad? Am I missing something?

He had a 41% win percentage for Millwall with no money, which seems quite good.

You have to appoint managers based on those who can deal with existing player pornography.
