He was our best player (going forwards) for the first part of the season. He lost that firm when the manager (understandably, for defensive reasons) seemed put a lid on him going forward.
But he has pace and can create and score goals. I would much rather see him in centre mid alongside Ball than the rather anemic Amos. Besides, he’s our player. We need some real urgency and pace in the middle and he can provide it. It’s all too pedestrian at the moment. |  | | |  |

Well, he was good. But he wasn't our best. Eze for a start was far better.
I'm coming around to this idea. He's never played there before so it's not a banker that he'd be good there but Amos is not going well right now. |  |

Didn’t he play CM under Holloway and looked very good, a goal vs Villa springs to mind...I’d prefer him in CM ahead of Amos who doesn’t do much. |  |

I agree. Nothing much against Amos. I just can’t see how he’s any better or even as good as scowen. Manning is best as a forward running midfielder. In his first season he was able to put balls into the channels for our quicker players to break into and we have faster players now than we did then. He can also get stuck in so without being weighed down in defensive duties he has the ability to find the pass and disrupt. Plus as you say he is our player and we have to concentrate on being a team of our players! |  |
