And it took a former West Indian opener to save some face for them. All out for 35 in 12 overs with Xavier Marshall scoring most of that. Oh, and this was against Nepal.

To be fair, Lamichhane is a world class bowler playing in a Ryman league level contest. He'd probably have been on the winning side whoever he'd played for.

The results strip at the top of Cricinfo has some weird and wonderful scores. I remember seeing about this lot:

My first reaction was “International sport? How ludicrous.” But then I thought, Malian women, playing cricket, how amazing (as well as Rwandans). It turned that a Welsh expat teacher who got his class involved, they were all teenagers who had never played on grass before. As their story got out, I think they got invited to play in England. Which is tough on Rwanda.

There was another amazing story about Jersey’s T20 women’s team who played in an international tournament in France. Apart from a woman in her 40s, who I guess was their coach, and an 18-year-old, the rest of them were aged from 11-14, including their best players. After getting flogged in their first games, by the end they were sticking it to Austria and Norway. What an experience! They are going to be fantastic in a few years.
