1,500 consecutive games following the Rangers.

What a star! Well done, Chris!

I used to drive with four chums to see the Rangers and one had to miss an FA Cup replay up at Luton back in 88 or 89 as I recall.

Our late and sadly missed mate Frankie, announced that he was bringing someone he knew as a replacement. Whereupon this fresh-faced pup appeared to claim his seat in the car, and I instantly christened Chris Kemp, the apprentice.

He started this madness a few weeks later and to this day, he’s still called the apprentice as he slowly learns his trade. He’s coming along well and maybe in another 700 games or so, we can look at maybe promoting him to junior supporter.

On the QPR Facebook post Chris has commented with an estimate of what it's cost him over the years and he's put it in the region of £80k. Give that man a medal.

Now that IS dedication. What an achievement. He must have started that around or just before the time I started going to Rangers regularly as I entered my teenage years (1989)

First time I met Chris was in a pub near Crewe's ground. We won 3-2 that day, Trevor Sinclair scored one. I remember Chris telling me then he'd been to about 500 consecutive games home and away. Proper dedication that is. Well done to him.

A Spurs supporting mate of mine is on a similar run. About 3-4 years ago he got a letter from Poccetino congratulating him on 1,000 consecutive competitive games home/away which included all European games as well. I believe he's up to 1,200 plus at the moment. Prior to the start he had missed 2 games in the previous years which is 2 in 35 years.

On a similar subject, former LSA secretary Joe English hasn't missed a home game since 1968 which is incredible seeing as he's had two knee replacement ops in the last 5-6 years. I remember him taking about 25 minutes to walk on sticks to White City tube after a night game about 4 years ago. This was 5 days after one of the ops.

That’s absolutely superb. An example of dedication to a cause that even in our initial existence was deemed to be lost.

Once upon a time, I was in the same spaceship as Chris and there was no higher calling than watching Rangers lose three years on the trot away at Grimsby on acTuesday night (including a postponement that we would have lost anyway. And did).

But then the weather of life, Vauxhall Motors, debt and insanity brought me crashing down to incapacity and moral incontinence. I was washed up on the beach of dead beached whales.

Chris, sail the boat into the horizon mate. Keep the sails a loft(!) in the stormy seas of indifference and Grimsby defeats. Life begins at the hop mate.
