I can actually see Hall staying on a reduced salary next season. He's been through an awful lot but his life is back together and he's happy. He's 28 and he's the captain. This is a guy who almost gave up before we signed him in 2015. Who suffered major depression during his injuries and he's still turning out these performances. He's a wealthy man and this is his club. Obviously if he is offered stupid money to go elsewhere he may think about it. Otherwise I think he will sign a new deal if it's offered. |  |

A real conundrum, for sure. On his day a good player but unfortunately his body is too fragile for the rigours of the championship. The emergence of Masterson as well as QPR's pursuit of McKenna suggests to me that MW may have other ideas, particularly if Grant is unwilling to take a pay cut to fit into the new structure. |  | | |

TBH, and I hate people speculating on salaries cos it's mostly bullsh!t but I once read elsewhere what Hall's salary was and tbh it wasn't *miles* away from what the new accounts show our average player salary to be now.
Further, he's 28 with a large injury profile unlike say Robinson was was 24 and from the Liverpool academy. Even on reduced wages he may take the security of another contract if we offer it |  | | |

I don't have a problem with Hall but I'm not sure about what I want us to do with him in the summer tbh. We can talk about squad depth and all that but I think realistically with a player of his age and seniority (and with Masterson coming into the picture) either we invest in a direct replacement or we re-sign him (if feasible) and pick up another understudy.
Last summer the plan was McKenna for Leistner but Masterson since established himself as a good third option ahead of schedule. Meanwhile the kid Dinzeyi we had on trial a few weeks is back playing for Spurs u23s it seems. |  | | |
