One of our best ever defenders. As mentioned he was fantastic in the air for a small guy. I remember him marking Arsenal's Alan Smith in one match and winning every aerial challenge.

He was lightning fast and timed his tackles very well, hardly ever giving away free kicks in dangerous positions.

One other memory of him, that he won't remember so kindly is the frequent choruses of "You should have stayed at the Rangers" from the travelling R's support when we beat them 4-1 on New Year's Day 1992.
