Please do thank ‘Save Warren Farm’, aka Brentford fans group, as we have now gone from potentially having a Leasehold site to now having a Freehold.
I wonder what success SWF will have when Lidl/Aldi/Tesco etc want to build a great big superstore there which will be ten times worse than a football training facility which would have opened up to the community.

Really stupid question, but is the site in any way big enough to build a new stadium on?
Any site the club has been looking to secure has always been on the basis of it being a training ground. Any site that is suitable for a stadium has to have surrounding infrastructure in place before you even start the process. The nearest tube station, Hounslow West, is 1 1/2 miles away and the closest train station, Hayes & Harlington, nearly 2 miles.
Although the site is right next to junction 3 of the M4 you’d have to have a very big car park close by plus avoid traffic queuing up on the motorway.

Not a stupid question but would fcuking hate it if they did tbh.
Great news though. Funny how things turn out.
The A4 goes past the end of our road - judging by the speeding going on in recent months the players will be trained and back home before they know it.

Cranford = Nightmare traffic. Handy for Costco.
Did I ever mention that I was in Minder?

Got up especially great news for you though
Just love Brentford fans having their day in the sunshine.
However, the whole fan-base (all 500) seem to think they are already promoted to the PL! Let's see how that pans out.
I am really gutted that there will be no crowds for the play-off final. If they did make it, wouldn't it be hilarious watching them trying to muster -at best- 15,000 for a day out at Wembley!
Also, it seems to have gone very quite around the funding plan for the new stadium. As I understand it, GP is part of the overall financials, but that is subject to planning for housing and development. Given current conditions cannot see any developer diving in. One to watch!

If you can't make hay when the sun is shining, when can you make it?
As for The 500 and hopes of the PL, I can't speak for all of them (obv), but this ones view is, if not this season, then next; if not next then the one after; and if not the one after, then who knows? Whatever happens, the scenery along the way is getting finer all the time.
As regards crowds, would you care to wager which of the two clubs will be drawing the bigger crowds just as soon as this virus business is cleared up? There wasn't much in it this season (10.5k vs 12.5k), where we were increasingly limited by capacity constraints, which will be less of a problem at Lionel Road.
And as for the new stadium, don't you worry about the funding: GP was only ever a very small part of the package and in any case, I'm pretty sure it's already been sold and accounted for, with the boys in the bulldozers just waiting for the keys to LR to be handed over to BFC (next month?) before they move on site.
