RIP. Legend.

Shame if he had to spend his last few months shelf isolating.

Yes a great actor and a decent age. Did you know that the role to play Bond at the time was between him and the broadcaster, then actor, Pete Murray? They were very close friends too. Pete is 95!

Never knowingly right.

Great allegedly true Sean Connery story was when a mate met him at a pro celebrity golf day.
Things were going well at lunch and my mate was with a group of reasonably "relaxed" mates beginning to feel more relaxed in the auspicious company of many stars of screen and stage.
My mates group were getting around a conversation about celebrity screws when Connery was making his way by, and one clever dickhead turns to Connery and says "here Sir Sean, you must have had some celebrity fncks, who was the best"
Connery looked somewhat nonplussed, and wandered off without saying a word.
Come afternoon drinks the competitors gathered again and were enjoying themselves when Connery approached the group.
"1964, Petula Clark, up the arshh" was all he said before an about turn and wandering off.

In 1973 he made a film in Bracknell called the offence , one of the scenes involved someone falling from point royal ( an Hexagonal tower block designed by the bloke who did the Sydney opera house) loads of us kids were watching as a dummy was tossed from the top. A lot of the scenes were shot at mill pond and nearby where Waitrose HQ. Is stands.

RIP Sean Connery.

“My name's Bond, James Bond” (the original and one and only).

I thought he was superb in "The Untouchables." if you get the chance watch him in the 1965 war drama "The Hill" which is in my in my top 10 of all films.

My Father had a profound influence on me, he was a lunatic.

He starred in the first ever X rated film that I saw as a young teenager in Malta. It was "Zardoz" with Charlotte Rampling-she was the actress not the person with whom I watched the film, I must add reluctantly!

Sad news but what a life he lived to make it to 90 fairly healthy is a dream in todays reality.
Loved Bond of course but one of my favorite scenes ever is in The Rock where he says "your best ,losers always whine about their best while winners go home and fu*k the prom queen " I realize its strictly an American movie and saying but I try and repeat it sometimes not with a scottish accent of course RIP Mr Connery

Great Bond.
We should get a load of Connery films on TV now.

"The Name Of The Rose" film was possibly his finest acting appearance, which he won a BAFTA for. Way better than Untouchables which he got the Oscar for a year later. I suspect that was because Hollywood knew he should have got it for the Rose film which instead that year went to Don Ameche for Cocoon. I mean I like Don, but that is nowhere near the same level as Connery for the Rose.

Other non-Bond films where his acting talent really shows through are:
Rising Sun
Medicine Man
The Hunt for Red October
Outland
The Man Who Would be King
Zardoz
The Anderson Tapes
The Hill
Hell Drivers

I especially recommend Outland and of course The Hill.

zzzzzzzzzz

RIP-

He was in some of my favourite films ever.

'The man who would be king' is probably my favourite.

Also possibly the last 'top billed' surviving cast member of the "Longest Day"

by 'eck you'll never see a line up like that again.

Beer and Beef has made us what we are - The Prince Regent
