No sign of the lesser spotted Sam Field in this lot though!

Isn't he the one to the left of Johanson?

Could be, think offy would have put a nice big 'Here he is" shot as they have done with the BFD!

That is indeed Field.

Interesting that Franklin Domi's training with the first team - attacking left back.

I'm sneaking this in here, talking of attacking left backs.........

Disclaimer - only saw highlights but that was a typical Manning performance from him v Man City.

Lovely ball in for Swansea's consolation goal, but defensivly? oh dearie me.

Some classic jogging gently back while temamates try to put out the fires left right and centre.

The 'attempt' to block Walker's mishit cross that ended up a goal was risible.

Yes I know it was Man City, but even they don't stop you running about a bit!

It does rather get lost in the Manning narrative that he's meant to be a Mowatt-style, left-footed, central midfielder.

Can we also talk about whether Charlie Kelman's arse is supposed to be that big?

Yes that's a fair point but as we've seen a few times with Eze, the modern game doesn't allow you to be passive without the ball, wherever you play.

Interestingly Swansea DID bring on Bidwell and didn't take Manning off, so maybe the penny is dropping with Cooper - imagine - the dream team down the left - Bidwell AND Manning!

On the other hand if the narrative was that the club were grossly at fault with Manning that would mean McClaren/Les ought to have had to dropped/sold one of Luongo, Freeman, Scowen, Eze to develop his potential rather than just Bidwell.

Manning was actually an attacking midfielder/left winger in Ireland. I never really saw any evidence that he had what it took to play centre-mid.

JdW out tomorrow, expected fit for Saturday.

Field "fit and well and training very well indeed, so he’ll be in the squad, without a doubt.”

Domi playing for the U23s at this very moment.

Two mentions of 'professional athletes' in the pre-amble, but a disappointing lack of people 'out on the grass'.
