We seem to have forgotten that we've a couple of players who will be back for next season - LTC and Amos.

Adding that depth to the squad will make a real difference I reckon.

It's always noisiest at the shallow end

Having too many left footed players is unbalanced?

In other words, having many right footed players is balanced, right?!

Very stereotypical.

Read it.....central midfielders. We already have two very decent left footers in central midfield. Where would LTC fit in.

There are far more right footed players around however we are a little different....we have got a few left footed players - good news.

Very naïve indeed.

What’s the difference between having a team full of left footed players, or having a team full of right footed players? Central midfield, centre half, centre forward or otherwise.

Yes it’s not the norm, but it does not not automatically render a team imbalanced.

That's exactly my point. We didn't adequately replace Hugill and Wells and ended up staring relegation in the face until further loans bolstered the squad in January. We face the same dilemma again this summer. If Johansen returns to Fulham, LTC will not be an adequate replacement. Sure, he's easy on the eye when given plenty of time to pick a pass but he just doesn't offer the same guile, backbone and leadership. If De Wijs goes, we're looking at either Cameron or Ball in a defensive 3 with Barbet and Dickie. If Charlie goes, we're depending on Dykes, Bonne and/or Kelman to step up.

De Wijis isn't going - we have an option on him.

No teams in this league, and not many elseswhere can name a 2nd 11 as good as their first, but with the possible exception of up front we have cover for every position.

Austin(TBC)/Bonne/Dykes/Kelman needs another body or two in there, but then again everyone wants to improve up front and the market for proven goalscorers, as Clive has pointed out numerous times, is just silly.

Johansson is a fine player but if he doesn't stay, we have the summer to replace him, or the loan market or we have LTC and Amos.

No reason we can't compete next season with the 1 or 2 additions mentioned above and indeed by MW.

Doesn't suit the 3-4-2-1 system we now play as he is not too good at tackling and has a terrible goal scoring record.

No point going over the LTC stuff again as it's clear that the critisicm of him seems mostly rooted in his first spell and assumptions, rather than his actual performances and facts from this season. What I will add is that just because he's not as good as Johansen or that he's not in this current in-form first 11, doesn't mean he can't be a very good player for us again next year - injury concerns permitting, I'd 100% sign him up again as a Stefan-lite alternative.

Amos is an interesting one as he seemed to be signed/played for a quite specific and specialised role in the old Warburton 4-2-3-1 formation, operating as a 'pressing' 10 with high intensity and front foot defending in the opposition half. Not to say those skills can't translate in this latest wing back formation, but he will have to find a way of playing further back in midfield or settle for a squad/rotation role. He's not creative/attacking enough to usurp Chair or Willock and I am not sure if he's got the physicality and discipline to be one of the 2 alongside Field.

A big summer and pre-season needed from him to prove he's overcome this latest injury and that he take the shirt from one of the above in a different system.

AOB: Masterson I think will be loaned again as soon as he's fit, ideally League 1 if possible. That means we'll have to sign another CB as well as De Wijs, on loan or permanent - especially if we jettison Geoff.

Shodipo seems to have earned his chance in the squad and plays at Oxford as part of a supporting cast behind 1 main striker, which is good. But even then I'd have him behind Chair, Willock, Adomah and even Thomas. Again it will require a big pre-season for him to prove he's worthy.

Not really Bazzer.......

We have got some good players and a good team however some players are pretty average and dear LTC is one of them who is limited, looks good what he does but doesn't achieve much. Seriously, if he was any good you need to ask yourself 'why has he had so many clubs?, what forward play does he do (defence splitting) or how many tackles does he make??

We must get better if we want to achieve anything as a Club.

Maradona had more clubs at his age! Don’t think that’s a factor at all.

My comments about LTC has nothing to do with his previous spell at the Club.....can't remember that far back and he may have changed many things from then.

What I can say about this season is that he has started 19 out of the possible 25 games before his injury, he only finished 11 of those matches before being substituted, he has failed to score one goal that I can recall, I also cannot recall many assists that he may have made, the LFW player stats shows he has one 7 mark - the rest are very low.

That to me doesn't tell me that he has had a good season whatsoever so I just cannot understand why you are 'raving' about him and wanting QPR to extend his contract !!! There must be better out there.

And Shodipo should be released as well if his contract has ended.....a long way from being good enough for QPR.

Writes a whole post just slip in his Shodipo vendetta. We get it, you don't rate him at all, others do and his Oxford stats are impressive.

Well, hopefully Oxford will have a chance to sign Shopido in the next few months.

Personally I don't think Shodipo is good enough either and although he's scored a fair amount, he still isn't starting / playing full 90mins often, I think League 1 is probably his level.

That being said, what's the point of these loan moves if not to see if players take the opportunity to get proper games and perform well with the intention to come back and challenge? Eze, Dieng, Chair have all gone away and done well with the chance to return and challenge for a place in the squad, he deserves a shot at being part of next season.

I think Amos's standing in the squad will have benefited by not playing - in a way it will be like getting a new player, and hopefully he will come good, but I'm not sure he's quite up to it and seems injury prone too.

Nothing against Amos but I'm not holding out much hope for him. The talk when we signed him was how he was still trying to mentally get over his first ACL injury. Now he's done both knees. All the best to him, but we'll wait and see.
