Gutted, absolutely dreadful pens after being perfect in two previous rounds. But felt we were the better side by a distance, made better chances and had a perfectly decent goal disallowed by an incompetent linesman waiting in vain for var to bail him out.
Bare bones.

Tbf I've just been sent a still of the offside goal. If that's correct, that is a fcking dreadful decision.
Played poorly. Sunderland were equally useless however that decision is so shockingly poor. Not even close to being offside. Crowd was brilliant today though, just wish we'd got a result for them.

Neither side were poor, was a decent game.
Bare bones.

looked a full house tonight. sat in x block ellerslie road. absolutely over packed. people in others seats, sitting in the aisles, standing up, all up until half time. stewards sort of sorted it second half..
only the brave went for a slash and something to eat/drink at half time.

Crowd given at just under 15,500 on the dodgy box stream I was watching in Northern Ireland. Looked far busier than that. Not watching Rangers over here anymore because it’s a mini curse.
Did I ever mention that I was in Minder?

no way you would fit another 3,000 in. your right, it was busier.
I was in the A block for that tonight (long story). Hadn't been there since Adel scored against Cardiff but didn't like it much this time.
When the pens arrived I didn't think we'd show the same confidence and positivity as we did against Everton and that did seem to be the case - massive contrast between those 2 games in general.
Thought Amos was our best player. Chair again being asked to sit deeper than he should to accommodate 2 up front. Wasn't impressed with Kakay in that first half. Duke Mackenna again nice and lively when he came on - might be worth getting him more minutes.
Fcuk shit bollocks.

Agree with all of this. Not only was the goal not offside, it looks to me like Adomah's shot was pushed wide by their defender's arm. An absolutely putrid piece of officiating.
You know if Sunderland had scored and won 1-0, I'd hold my hands up and say fair enough, but irrespective of how anyone feels we played, the bottom line is we scored a legitimate goal which would likely have been the winner, and we've been denied by a c@nt of a decision by a c@nt of a linesman.
When we scored, I looked straight at the linesman (as I tend to do these days to avoid getting worked up over nothing if his flag is up). Must have looked for a good three or four seconds, and by the time I stopped looking at him, Charlie was over by the corner flag on his knees. The flag was still not up as I looked away. How or why he would decide to flag so late I have no idea, and it makes me wonder whether Stroud has suggested to him over the mic that it looked offside to him. Whatever, the reason we aren't in the quarter finals is solely down to him. Not our team, not our play, not our formation, not our players. We did enough to win tonight by scoring a good goal, and we have been robbed, as Antti says, by an official who isn't competent at his job.
End of.

I did the same. Looked straight at the Lino…nothing, waited, a split second, nothing. Went bananas. Then someone nearby wasn’t celebrating. Flag was so late and such a bad decision. He’s either bowed to player pressure or colleague pressure because no way was it crowd pressure.
He must have know he’d dropped a b*llock from all the chanting afterwards.

Great post. Saved me the effort. Agree with every word. I'll just add how all this "we didn't deserve to win is poppycock in the scheme of things. We scored a legitimate goal which was unfathomably chalked off. It was a cup game. Playing well is a bonus but it's ALL about the result and we were unfairly denied it due to incompetence on a level you won't see repeated in a very long time.
Absolutely gutted about the way we were robbed and what we've been robbed of!

It's appallingly bad officiating however he came to the decision, but I cannot believe that he would wait that long to put up his flag because of player pressure. Given Warb's comments, it seems most likely that the 4th official must have had some input.

That's interesting because the Sunderland coaching staff were in the fourth official's ear throughout the entire match. But I don't see how he could overrule the lino given he's miles away from the action...

Same here, I was directly opposite and looked for a long time before celebrating. Completely perplexed by the whole thing.
The only thing I disagree with is that he'd realise his mistake, officials seem oblivious to their errors and happy to assume 15k people are wrong and they alone are right.
