non QPR - should Boris resign? 15:39 - Apr 12 with 12928 viewsTonto

he HAS been fined for having broken his own rule. Mrs BJ and Rishi Sunak also fined. Not good.

whilst I dont think for a minute they will be honourable and resign - should they?

Why stop now, just when I'm hating it

On the one issue of 'partygate', yes he should resign. Having broken the law and ministerial code, it is difficult to imagine a prime minister doing anything else. However, he could spin this out if he chooses to appeal against the fine but I suspect the police will have ensured they've got this one firmly nailed down.

I said on the one issue of 'partygate' because there are many other things Johnson has done that ought to be considered resignation issues. I'm sure you can make your own list of what they are.

Johnson is the worst ever British PM in history.

Nobody resigns any more. You can do almost anything you like, with no comeback.

Hence the society we currently live in.

Not a chance either of them will resign and will be fascinating to see how they manage to worm their way out of it.

They should of course though, Hancock and others had to when they broke their own rules.

During covid ,a lad who loved coming to Rangers and a good friend died , not able to attend the funeral bcos only six family were allowed to attend and ended up saying goodbye as the hearse went past in the high street.
Not that far away the people who set the "six only" rule were partying and then denying it and then lying in parliament about it !
Is that fair and is that right ?

When you think of how kids lost a year of education and experiences, businesses went under, how you couldn't see family members and as you say could not attend their funerals, you were not allowed to go to the pub and drink alcohol unless you ate food and so many more bonkers rules to see the leaders were getting pissed up during all this is an absolute disgrace. Them lying about it and dragging this out for as long as they have is unbelievable. these parties happened over a year ago now and the stories were out before Christmas.

The fact that many people will stand up and defend them for this because they don't like the other fella is frightening

They should've gone a long time ago and 100% should go now, but I doubt they will whilst they have the support of their party - why would their party still support them...because whilst the likes of Boris are running the show they can generally get away with whatever they like.

They lied, then they carried on lying--next and at long last we'll get the over due Sue Gray report.
They have created history, they have also caused this Country huge embarrassment.
No world leader from anywhere on this planet would or should believe a word that Johnson vomits from his mouth and surprise-surprise nor should we.
Never in a hundred years will this revolting thing resign.

I'd gladly take a pick axe to the bastard.

Utter bastard.

Without a doubt they should both resign and take the rest of this useless lot with them. I mean really has this country apart from when having the proverbial bombed out of it by Hitler ever been in a worse state.

Not a chance in hell Boris will go of his own accord. As soon as it becomes clear that he is a liability for re-election he will be ditched quicker than a flash.

Who knows with this lot, nothing suprises me anymore. Interesting all the stuff about Sunak's tax affairs was leaked, probably to damage him alongside the fines which were most likely known about weeks ago. Tories don't want Sunak at No.10 and Johnson will tough it out, it is part of his political DNA likes a bit of a battle and thrives on it.

If Ukraine hadn't happened he'd have been gone already.

Sadly, as said, this is going to be more about what direction the party decides to take rather than any obvious sense of right or wrong.

I think momentum could start to build again though, regardless of Ukraine and the related photo op at the weekend.

Allegra Stratton was forced to resign and she wasn't at any parties so Boris and Rishi surely must quit.
Boris knew what was coming so went to Kiev to earn brownie points. It's all a game.

Wish I could be like David Watts

He's also got a load of knob heads on the front benches. doubt they would want a new leader if it puts their jobs at risk.

Local election results may put the wind up a few but they would still be MP's so I cannot see any change for a good while yet.

Noticed no comments yet from Tory MP's, only a few rumuors 'off the record'. and it seems the war in Ukraine will be used as not the time to change leadership....ho hum

Of course the lying, inept, scruffy cʋnt should resign but, like he's done since the whole Barnard Castle debacle, he'll sweep it under the carpet, saying he's getting on with the job of (insert mildly positive policy here).

How the fʋck he ever got elected as a politician in the first place, let alone become PM, is completely beyond me, he's a total embarrassment.

FÊ‹cking detest the man.

Tory MPs are trotting out the expected guff about not changing a PM during a war. However, during WW1 Asquith was replaced by Lloyd George and during WW2 Chamberlain was replaced by Churchill.

History is a bastard when it goes against you!

We're not the ones at war so we should be fine to change prime minister.

The absolute horseshit they are coming out with about teachers having drinks in the staff room. Most schools were shut back then and those open you were not allowed more than 3 people in the staff room.

That was Michael Fabrikunt-an absolute tool and Johnson apologist. I suppose the French should cancel their elections too due to Ukraine.

And below, another rimming so deep even PornHub would censor it.

PM has been clear about what happened on 19th June 2020 & offered a full apology. It was a brief gathering in the Cabinet Room, less than 10 minutes during a busy working day. PM is at his best when delivering on the priorities of the British people which he will continue to do.

Ah guys do we need this thread? Have I not suffered enough last few weeks?

Spoiler, over the next ten pages...
- all the people you expect to say he should resign will say he should resign
- all the people you expect to defend him will defend him, or play 'whataboutery'
- we'll get to say hello to some posters we only ever see here when there's a political row to be had.
- Hitler will get a mensh somewhere around page 6
- Everybody will think exactly what they think now at the end of it.

If I'm right, I'll lock or delete it. Pleeeeeeeeeease be civil. We're all QPR.
