Agree, bit of a joke after last seasons, dont get how others can get good sides and we get palace reserves, three here not going for a start.
We only got good sides last season because covid restrictions meant they couldn’t go on lucrative middle/far east tours so had to do with the likes of us instead.

Since when did anyone care about pre season friendlies?
As long as the oppo are of a reasonable standard and the players are getting minutes under the belt, I couldn't really give a flying one who we're playing until the season starts.

Since when did anyone care about pre season friendlies?
As long as the oppo are of a reasonable standard and the players are getting minutes under the belt, I couldn't really give a flying one who we're playing until the season starts.
The question is whether the opposition are of a standard required to prepare the team for the match at Blackburn. The two German clubs (equivalent to Accrington) are the highest quality that we will face.
I agree with you that preparation of the players & playing staff is what is important, but it would have been good to test this against at least one team higher up the chain.

Meh - as mentioned Warnock had us playing the likes of Tiverton, seemed to work out OK.
Even playing Prem sides they'll likely put out weaker teams anyway.
