Anyone looking to buy an Orange Bass rig . 8x10 orange cabinet . AD200 bass amp and 1000w tiny terror. Was bass rig for the final 10 years of being in Orange goblin. I think the Tiny terror needs a new fuse or something and the cab needs a new wheel.

Like yes, it's Fender's shape but who didn't play a Strat copy at some point in the last forty years?! And who wants to pay Fender prices when all this shit is made in the same factories. It's ridiculous.

Mate ring Orange direct, I had an Orange 15 Watt amp head ages ago, the Indicator light had gone, they were a great help, sent me over a load of written help and told me to keep In touch If I couldn't solve the problem.

Bit of an acquired taste, certainly. I only saw him once (1983). Think he was playing in a guitar, violin, drums trio at the time. Wish I could remember more about it. No recollection of the venue even, possibly because I was with a Millwall mate (don’t judge me) and we’d been through the entire ‘Beers of the World’ selection in the pub before.

Quite possibly, Boston. It was 43 years ago and I can barely remember what I had for breakfast this morning. All I know is that it would’ve probably been in central London somewhere. I only remember the year because I found it in an old diary.
Incidentally, Ulmer is on an LP called Lenox Avenue Breakdown by alto saxophonist Arthur Blythe. Also on the team is a tuba player called Bob Stewart, whose solo is featured on the title track.
It has been referred to as “one of the few genuinely important tuba statements in jazz, a nimble sermon that promises storms and sunshine”. I think that will have to be my selection when Colin starts his much-anticipated Tuba Solos thread.

I thought I'd buy one of his records on Amazon but the money launderers are using him. Vinyl or CDs going for up to £500. Ebay, £4-£10. Edit, just bought the America vinyl LP for £15 on ebay.

My first "proper" guitar was a Gordon Smith, at the time made in the UK and better than Gibson/Epiphone for quality
Not sure what they are like these days, I think the beginner guitars are 100 times better, but maybe that middle point is where you might need to spend another £100 on a professional setup

No decent Fenders in the shop, Bluce? My Fender Player is lovely and cost roughly that much.
In other news, I recently saw my guitar playing French godson for the first time in 20 years. He and his wife have recently had a little girl and I asked him whether fatherhood leaves him any time to play his guitar.
He said:"When she wakes up in the middle of the night and I settle her back down and linger to see if she drifts off, I do sometimes play. I plug the headphones in and practise some Slayer riffs!"
Well, he did use to be in a death metal band!

They did have some nice looking Teles though.
What's weird is that I'm not 100% happy with my current electric guitar (Sire T7 Telecaster) but it's still better than the ten or so guitars I played at Guitar Guitar on Sunday.

So. Weirdly, having tried out a bunch of guitars recently, and realising that I don't get on with PRS or Gretsch guitars (disappointingly), I've gone for a potentially stupid option.
My blue Sire Tele on the previous page is almost perfect but they did a piss poor job with it in the factory and I've never quite been happy with it. However, most players say theirs is great. Also, they made a 'new gen' version that has minor improvements. So, I've just bought one of those. Same colour.
I'm hoping this one is better. Aside from the problems I love the look of the guitar and the responsiveness of the trem.

I'm quite pleased. There's a guitar tech guy that I take my new guitars to. He's a bit grumpy but he's very good and up until today he's never rated any of my guitars that he's worked on. Because they're usually cheap and he probably works on some high end gear. So I eventually end up getting rid of them.
Anyway, this new Sire guitar that I bought, it's the first time he's had no criticisms. So that's a really good sign. He's done a really great set up on it. If you've got a local guy, and you're not confident doing this stuff yourself, I really recommend getting a pro to set up your guitar. They'll get the action right down and the intonation bang on.
It is, however, far too hot to play guitar.
