White City redevelopment 11:25 - Apr 15 with 3035 viewsThird_Division_South

Plans for redeveloping the White City. QPR gets a mention, not sure if the immediate area round the ground ie Batman Close, or the possibility of rebuilding stands form any part of it.

It's the area north of Mackay House, where the community centre and Randolph Beresford Centre sit along with some disused council buildings. Not really connected to QPR but very close by.

Just says that we're close, no indication the club would be involved (i.e. new or upgraded stadium). Probably not as it would take up a huge amount of space.

They'll probably try to brick us in! Then we'll be scurrying for the dig down plans.

Typical 21st century development: offsite kits bolted together; coffee shops/ chain restaurants; a few light industrial jobs for specialists; a possible toned down themed bar; and homes the size of shoe boxes with a tiny kitchen and splash room of a bathroom: yours at a starting price of £750k. You know, the usual vapid sruff.

Odd looks of a Saturday to this motley crew of mainly men, trudging their way to that place on the outskirts of the development where noise occasionally comes from.

I tells ya...we'll be at Butler's warehouse in Greenford!

No. Its almost directly north of LR. So further down SA Rd than the TA

Why stop now, just when I'm hating it

When the plans were released, there was a map showing the area and the land around QPR was included, yet some of the roads weren't.

Never know how to add images but you can see it on google here

Speaks volumes I think that the last 30 years has seen so much redevelopment in White City yet QPR are never part of it.

We might be part of it though.

Owners have been talking more of doing work on LR but they can't go into details. The plans here https://www.google.com/search?sca_esv=1610bf8db0cd784a&rlz=1C1GCEA_en__1148_ include LR in it, when the rest of the road isn't.

I still think that there will be news on LR in the fairly near future, or we'd still be hearing about moving out and so on.

I suspect that the ground is included in that map because it's classed as greenspace/leisure/something. They've also included the park and Powerleague for the same reason. That'd allow them to reduce the greenspace in the rest of the development area.

I'd be very surprised if any development of out ground was going to be included in this or even eased by it.

The map linked to just shows the general White City area that H&F have been looking to regenerate for a few years now. Loftus Rd is obviously part of that.

This specific development, as stated earlier, is on disused council buildings and community centres north of the stadium. Roughly bounded by Mackay House, Commonwealth Ave, Canada Way and India Way.

Football grounds don't make money for developers. They ideally want residential property and lots and lots of them. Look at the Dairy Crest site, looks like Mega City One.

Stadium MK and the whole MK Dons thing was only done as leverage to get in all the retail units, that's where the money was for Winkleman & Co. Fk all to do with the love of football.
