Bucket List / Fck It List 17:16 - Dec 4 with 2576 viewsDorse

Thinking about the Ashes, something I've always wanted to do would be to go on an England test tour. Take a couple months, do the whole thing, barely survive the alcoholism, that sort of thing.

By contrast, something everyone raves about but I couldn't give a monkey's about doing would be doing Route 66 or trying yoga. Fck that shit.

Whaddya reckon? What's on your bucket / fck it lists?

'What do we want? We don't know! When do we want it? Now!'

Probably watching football in South America for me. Would love to run a marathon but am not getting any younger and not sure if I'd find the time (or the motivation 😄) for the training. May well do at least a half next year though, that I think I could manage ok.

I've seen us in an FA cup final, been to a European cup final, seen my team win the NRL grand final (South Sydney in 2014), watched us beat Chelscum 6-0, been at two Sydney ashes tests won by England in front of a raucous England support, skydived, bungee jumped (never again, but incredible!) and seen a lot of my favourite bands live. So not too bad really.

There’s still time to track down Arthur Scargill if you’re so inclined Ted, still going at 87. Last time I heard he was in his Presidential Suite in the Barbican.

My bucket list would include tests in Galle and Dharamshala, State of Origin, a big SEC game likeTennessee v Alabama and River Plate v Boca Juniors, but a trip to Istanbul is next on my list.

On the F-it list, I’ve never seen the appeal of Vegas, much less renewing my marriage vows in front of an Elvis impersonator. The Trans Siberian railway always seemed like a pointless ordeal to me as well.

Istanbul is an amazing city. Up there with any city I've visited. So much to do and see, amazing food, great locals, some really good bars, mental football... a brilliant place.

My bucket list would be finishing the 92 (almost there, but clubs need to stop moving grounds and getting relegated into the National league), a game at Dortmund, a game at Arbroath, and a game at Dinamo Tbilisi (wanted to go there since hearing their name on the radio as a kid).

England Test match at Newlands.

On the flip side, I have less than zero interest in going to Vegas or Dubai.

Fulham FC: It's the taking part that counts

Yeah I was interested in Vegas but some relatives went and said its a bit of a shit hole. Also I have no interest in gambling and casinos.

Dubai to me just seems like a place that would be full of w**kers.

I’ve not been to Vegas for about 14 years but every time I did go back then I loved it.
Proper playground

Same with Amsterdam

I’d hazard a guess though that the enjoyment level for both may diminish for me now though living a somewhat different life

Cherish and enjoy life.... this ain't no dress rehearsal

Thanks for the Dubai reminders, it has all the appeal of an airport terminal full of rseholes, as sickly as the chocolate. I’ve always liked the sound of Oman though. I do have a plan for walking in one of the US desert national parks too.

I've done Arizona, It's an amazing state, I never had enough time there, I did manage to spend time visiting the ancient Indian burial grounds which used to fascinate me having read books about the different tribes that used to live there and how dreadfully they were treated.
There are National parks In abundance in Arizona and endless walking trails and historic museums.
The grand canyon Is a bit meh, when I got there and paid the entrance fee It reminded me of bloody Thorpe Park.
Plenty of desert trails, plenty of Hippies plenty of canyons.
Stay somewhere near but not In Flagstaff on Interstate 40, Flagstaff Is about 3 hours from Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport, just under 11 hour flight direct from Gatwick.

My Father had a profound influence on me, he was a lunatic.

I work with an Egyptian lad who lived all over the Gulf growing up and Oman is the only Gulf state he would recommend visiting. He says it's beautiful and it's the only one of the Gulf states in his opinion, where the people haven't largely become materialistic ars eholes.

Had to go to Vegas for work, around 20 years ago. It's as tacky as you'd expect.

Bucket List - complete the 92. Same issue as Konk. Teams move or get relegated.
Watch Rangers in a competitive European match
Rugby World Cup in 2027, in Australia

Fck it list - die in the bed of a female friend of my grandson, after an evening of rampant sex.

Oddly never a massive wugger fan but quite fancy a British Lions tour

Fcuk it list.... Rosamund Pike, Alexandra Daddario and Natalie Portman (but there are many, many, many others)

I’ve been to Rome for the rugby 3 times and it’s a great weekend, and not too expensive either if you book it separately yourself.I’m trying to talk myself into going back in March for the next instalment.

I'll be there with a few mates. Original plan was to go in and out over 24 hours but somehow we've managed to book a flight to Naples, spending 3 nights there, then train up to Rome, 2 nights and back home. That will be all the away 6 Nations venues done for me and my crowd.

Bucket list includes a tour round all of the Scottish Islands visiting every distillery and sampling their wares.

You could always limber up by walking the Speyside Way, NewYork. Over 50 distilleries en route apparently. I did it with some Citeh mates a few years ago (even lived to tell the tale!)

QPR Bucket - like Bazz, a European campaign.
Non-QPR Bucket - Nepal and the Himalayas, hopefully in 2026.

HI Brian, I did ane Annapurna circuit way back in 2001, 17 days walking (mostly up, 3 days down and 1 rest day for acclimatisation at 3,600m or so). Unbelievable experience, when I did it basically no coms or smart phones also so you felt really cut off. I didn't do the Everest base camp which I understand is more up and down over Valleys, whilst Annapurna is more of a gradual climb up most of the way. There were basically no heated showers when I went, so the good news is there was never a queue for the shower as the water was just above freezing!

Also some amazing white water rafting, you can do 3 or 5 day ones camping on the side of the river at night - again amazing, and there was aparticularly vicious one day one!

Lovely people, great food, momos to die for.

My list I've also wanted to see Petra in Jordan, and go to Lebanon. One of my best firends is lebanese but I'd love to go for a week there. It's a shame it's so messy there now.and South America for a year when I retire or win the lottery.

Thanks OakR. Great info.

Fck it List - Easy, anything that has FIFA's name on it. So, Mango and Infantile can stick their world cup where the sun don't shine!

Bucket List - I consider my one truly successful life trait is to be someone who, once I get it into my head that I want to do something, I do it!

It's brought me as much satisfaction as it has happiness to be in the act of completing something I've wanted to do, as much as I enjoy the memories of looking back to the things on my 'Done It' list.

So, if you have something on your list, then get on with doing it no matter how long it will eventually take you to do. I've had things on my list that have taken years to achieve but once you start doing something tangible towards your goal, it never ceases to amaze me how things come together.

Seriously, life's too hard, too short, and often, too miserable for unchecked lists of the things you really want to do!

Did a couple last year and have two next year on a bit of a tour to mark my ahem...first significantly numbered birthday beginning with a six!!
