Says we shouldn't focus on short term-ism. Either pushing for promotion or worrying about bad results, keep working with the plan of signing young players, accepts we will get inconsistent results by adopting that plan.
Asks for the fans to build a positive environment around the players to help them succeed. 'Im not saying it's the fans fault'

My question would be - are we really seeing development in the young players? Some players are stepping into the first team but they're often really struggling, and a lot of our development prospects spend the season on the physio's bench (Poku is the prime example).

I cannot bring myself to watch it but, if he's not accepting that experienced, gnarly, dogs of war are needed alongside his creche approach then......... "we're doomed.... dooooooomed I tell thee"
As Rob says above - depart with 500 plus of youre valuable holding to watch young inconsistent players "develop" and go on long losing runs and get rolled over every week? It's not for me.
Cherish and enjoy life.... this ain't no dress rehearsal

At least he was honest enough to admit that we haven't stuck to the plan in the past.
I don't buy the comparison with the Atlanta Braves. They don't have to worry about relegation if they have a few bad seasons, and from what I understand of American sports and the draft system there are actually incentives and rewards if you have a couple of bad seasons and want to invest in young talent.
A few years ago Marc Bircham appeared on the WLS podcast and said QPR need to decide what they are because you can be a development club or a promotion club but you can't be both.
I would agree with Birch's point that you can't do both at the same time but in an ideal world we want to transition from being a development club by putting together a core group of youngsters who grow together and hopefully develop into a top six team
So I can accept youngsters getting their chance for now even if it means some inconsistency, but we can't be intending to remain a development club forever. There must also be a medium-long term plan to push up the table and hopefully make it back to the PL.
I would love to hear someone from the club outlining the medium-long term objectives and how soon/long it will be before we are making a serious push for the top six.
I would also like to know how our chronic injury problems are hurting our short-medium-long term objectives and what the hell we're going to do about it.

Disappointing in my view. It seems his take is that the plan is working, its inevitable there will be bumps in the road but be more supportive of the players (but its not your fault). No reference to the role of the backroom staff, the transfer activity, poor comms, how to keep fans on board. Trust the process, whatever that means! I didn't see him say anything about why QPR supporters should buy into the process? I Just saying at the end of a stream of criticism of fans that he is not being critical is quite a sight to behold. I am surprised at the lack of emotional intelligence and wasting an opportunity to try and rally supporters. If he wants to get buy in, then do something to get it, not simply tell them to be patient!

Is the lack of consistency in results due to focussing on player development? I didn't watch all of this video as i was starting to feel a bit despondent in the lack of ambition, so switched it off. Surely priority is getting promoted to the premier league..? End of. Everything else will be a by product of that achievement. You only get promotion with a successful , talented team. Young players develop in good teams, with a good coaching staff, with good people behind the scenes. There just seems to be so much the club need to do. Bit of a cop out, what Lee Hoos is saying here.
By the way, if you're hankering for change at QPR then forget about it. Lee Hoos is the Chairman, when he speaks you can be sure he's vocalising the owners' thoughts. There's a plan, they're sticking to it, and the fans just need to cheer up.
I must have been watching a different QPR this season.

I think the big message I would give the club at the moment is - take the fans with you. It’s no use really saying “this is what we’re doing and you can choose what sort of fan you want to be.” Involve us, inform us, make us part of it, and give us something to dream about. Ten more years in the Championship with the aim of creating something Crystal Palace can buy is no kind of pitch.

100% this.
Goodwill works both ways.
If the club wants the fans on board it needs to stop treating us like children who are allowed to know all the happy upbeat stuff but aren't allowed all the difficult or awkward stuff.
Ditching the control freakery around comms would be a good start.

Can't stand Hoo,s , like a smary used car salesman.
Ah the Hand of Hoos appears from behind the curtain to soothe the mood of the restless natives. Short term Mr Hoos? 10 years is a lifetime in football and you've outlined your usefulness
Is there an example of team that won the Championship with a squad of young players that came through the ranks? If so, what did they do differently to us, apart from win games?!

Inconsistent results are fine and normal for most Championship sides every season. Each one will have good, bad and indifferent sequences of results. The problem is the recurrent slumps during which we don't look remotely competitive and the players appear to have forgotten the basics of professional football.
I am struggling to reconcile the claimed problem of short termism with Hoos' desire to focus on the development of young players. We don't tend to hang on to those players for long, do we? The aim is usually to move them on, at a sizable profit, before they reach their prime.
"Things had started becoming increasingly desperate at Loftus Road but QPR have been handed a massive lifeline and the place has absolutely erupted. it's carnage. It's bedlam. It's 1-1."

Sunderland didn't win the title but did get promotion to the PL with a young squad. Although they started their rise in League 1.
They also managed to make some big money sales along the way.
So it can be done. Just not sure I want to drop into L1 to kickstart the process.

And when the natives get restless and start to question things the great white dad steps forwards to pour some oil on the waves while the little boy wonder quietly lurks in the shadows.

Hmmmmm....so basically if we clap and cheer when 5-0 down the long-term plan will come to fruition quicker? Got it.
Great - but I still don't understand the point of this long term plan. According to the video, it appears to be all about Kolli and Morgan, who presumably the minute that they start showing some consistency and helping us win games - we flog as quickly as possible.
Great! Really looking forward to the next few years!
