Today summed up the lack of respect we are showing to end of the season with changes for changes sake, which ultimately ended up with us finishing the game with 10 men.
Yes I do get it is giving the manager the opportunity to blood youngsters to see how they cut it but pre season friendly is the place for that.
The 1st half performance was good with some good performances from players I have been critical of in the past Bennie and Morgan.
It is was it is.
I would say the season has been typical of a middle of the table team with the good being very good and the bad being very bad.
The Madsen injury affected us badly and we naturally dipped a bit then and struggled.
Next week I would imagine will be more of the same and £43 a ticket is a joke.
Has it improved from last season….i think so!

I just wish we could play like we did in the first 15 minutes throughout the 90. I was watching on Derby comms and even they were purring on how we were playing.
It was the kind of game we didn't deserve to lose and Derby would consider themselves lucky to even get a point.

This whole season has felt like one big experiment Formation, teams , subs Most of these young lads are no where near good enough for the first team Don’t get me wrong I would have snapped your hand for this after the 7-1 but even when we got ourselves into contention there was no believe to push forward into the play offs We drastically need 2 actual fullbacks and a competent keeper

I thought 4 of the 5 subs were due to injuries. Not sure about Mad Ben but Sinton thought it related to a knock from when he went over the barrier into the front row there. Burrell was holding his hammie Kone his calf and Smyth had a knock of some kind..
We dominated the first 70 minutes of that and should have been 4 or 5 up. Hit the post, goal disallowed and some finishing that wasn't quite good enough. Well done Vale, Kone, Edwards and Bennie, and probably the best I've seen from Morgan.

Adamson got absolutely schooled today. 23 years old, not necessarily the youngest player on the pitch, really don’t think he will make the grade. We need two full backs next season. Another midfielder and hold on to our attacking players. We need to progress, and it’s difficult to see where that comes from without some material changes.
I actually enjoyed the game mostly until they got their 3rd. We were playing some lovely stuff for the first half and into the second. Lost all momentum and fluidity with the subs.

I would have had Cook on the bench for a cameo and moved Edwards to RB.
I think that would have closed out the game quite nicely and given Steve a much better send off. Maybe we don’t kill a couple of other players to death (again) and cruise home with a decent cushion of goals.
Not the way of our people, as Dorse would say.

Terrible substitutions reinforcing my view that the management team, or whoever makes the decisions is not up to it. We just go 2-1 up with Bennie a real threat and Morgan a real presence and both are hauled off meaning we lose all our momentum and let them back into the game. I thought we were going to go out with a nice, well deserved win until those two substitutions helped Derby to three points.

Bennie gets dogs abuse on here by some, yet here was a 19yo who was the best player on the pitch today. And if you watched Morgan and Varane today, but didn't know which one was being linked with a £5m move, you'd say Morgan.
Leave him out there. He was enjoying himself and playing well
I thought Bennie was limping a bit before he went off.
Something else to be said about the transformation of the game was that the first 70 minutes, Derby were the slowest team I’ve seen this season. Morgan had as much time and freedom on the ball as we gave Boro, Bristol City, Swansea etc. Their subs perked them up, not the least the scorer on the left.

I found that to be an immensely frustrating game because I’m not sure whether I’ve seen one when we played as well as that and then came away with nothing. For virtually the whole of the first half we made Derby look as poor as Middlesbrough did us a few weeks ago. We were saying to each other “who are these guys?” and “is it really QPR we’re watching.” I thought we played better than we did against Portsmouth when we got six and we should have got at least four or five. But the subs gradually killed us, starting with Adamson at halftime who looked way out of his depth. Subbing Bennie and Morgan for Burrell and Madsen should have made us stronger but had the opposite effect and the withdrawal of Kone removed any lingering threat up front. By the end, the only team likely to score in that painful ten minutes of injury time was Derby and it was such a shame for the team to receive no reward for playing exhilarating football for three quarters of the game.

Another rollercoaster season. Looking forward to next season I think we have a pretty good squad and everyone associated with the club knows where we need to recruit assuming we have a budget.
But unless we manage our players better in terms of fitness and injuries and whilst we persist with a two man midfield we will not progress. Hugely frustrating as The Championship isn't that strong currently and we should be exploiting that.

It was such a shame for the team…? It was a bloody shame for the poor sods who filled the ground for a nothing game to have the team roll over at home. Again. Pisspoor.

I thought for most of the game we played great, the switch to the 4-1-4-1 formation seemed to really catch them out Varane had an excellent first half, the centre back were dominatnand good on the ball, and the attacking 5 linked well and at pace. We were so wasteful in front of goal, Bennie kept electing to pass when he should have shot, Smyth kept shooting when the pass was on.
Two subs changed the game. Give Adamson his due he did at least try to pass forward today, but he was defensively terrible and positionally all over the place, he a year younger than Mbengue but the gulf between the two is huge.
Kone coming off Chair coming on and Burrell going up top alone and we lost control as we could not get the ball to stick.
I have to be honest, but Burrell had not looked right to me since coming back, no explosive pace at all and without that he is ordinary. Certainly playing within himself you have to ask should he have come back at all. That's at least 3 returnees from Hamstring injuries this year that have got injured again within a few games, and some serious questions need to be asked of the performance team here. 1 might be unlucky, 2 careless 3 something is very wrong.
If Walsh had put in as shaky performance as Naardi today there would be a 20 post thread on it already.
Today in many ways encapsulated our season, a lot of promise, some exciting football at times, ruined by injury and some very poor depth especially in the full back areas

Mmmmm, I'm not sure they do know what we need.
If we went out and got two decent CMs we'd be promoted with the current squad. This league is dog shyte and it only takes good CM to get out.
