After spending £25m in two seasons, increasing the wage bill, and increasing the club losses, there must be progress next season otherwise a change in leadership is necessary. And, I think the only way that progress will happen is if we can keep our key players fit and on the pitch. To do that, we need to overhaul the Performance function and sack Ben Williams. If we don’t and we see little progress again, the club’s leadership deserve everything they get. |  | | |

Everyone else will be spending too so it just levels everything out. More money comes in from new tv deals, increased ticket/merchandise/catering/hospitality etc prices but then players demand more money. We stand still.

I saw that comment and understand Matt's viewpoint - no relegation battle and playing more kids.
There is more to it than that.
We have spent a lot of money and have not improved.
A lot of this can be directed at Ben Williams due to ongoing injuries to many of our favourite players for much of this and last season. It is not good enough.

Bang on. 15th itself is not bad, but having spent all that money and not really made a big sale (Kelman aside) it's can't really be progress.
Off the pitch stuff in the next few months will be the final chance for progress of sorts over the year, and the signs here are mixed IMO. Simply, we need a sale. My gut says Madsen probably has to be the one - at 26, surely this has to be the time to sell him... peak value is likely to be around now. The other most sellable assets are probably Kone, Burrell and Kolli. In parallel we are getting a somewhat backlogged with "development" signings which have not worked out and probably are now past development age (if it hasn't happened by 23/24, probably it wont).... Saito (sadly) unless he refinds his mojo, Celar, Hevertton, possibly Dembele and Adamson.

We keep saying it, but it’s never been more obvious.
Standards are set at the top, and at the moment QPR simply don’t have any.
The board has stabilised the club financially and we’re no longer lurching from crisis to crisis — fair play for that. But that seems to be the ceiling they’ve set for us: safe, sustainable, mid-table Championship football year after year. No clear plan, no real ambition, no demand for excellence from top to bottom.
When the people at the very top accept 15th/16th as “job done”, is it any surprise the players sometimes look like they’ve downed tools or the recruitment feels patchy? The tone from the top filters all the way through the club, and right now that tone is “let’s just survive and keep the lights on”.
We’re better than this. The fans deserve better than this. We’ve got the history, the fanbase, the location — we should be pushing for more, not settling for the same old cycle.
Anyone else feeling the same, or am I just being too harsh?

Not a postive season overall results wise for sure.
For me the real season is next year where we need to show progress results wise and challenging for the playoffs. Players should be back, and most will now have a season and / or some Championship experience. I guess we will sell and buy again but next season and the one after should be where results show or it's not working.
Injuries the biggest concern, and derailed our season more than anything. That definitely needs to be looked at more than anything. | |

It's sort of right, but really it's only because the results have come in a different order to previous seasons. I've much preferred not sh1tting my pants every weekend for the last three months of the season, but we've still ended up more or less with the same outcome.
If I'm being generous, the positives are that for the first time in aeons we have two proper strikers, each with a Championship season (or part of one) under their belts. We have what could be a proper pairing at centre back as well. And Madsen is obviously a huge positive. Morgan hasn't gone forward but he's got useful minutes. There's something about Bennie, perhaps. Smyth has had the season of his career so far.
The negatives - we need a first choice keeper. We need a new left back. No cover at right back. The injury situation is farcical and has surely contributed to the goals against - you can't be organised defensively with different personnel every week. Varane has been frustrating and if money is offered I'd be taking it. Hayden has also been poor, we could do with a big hairy bloke to smash people about in midfield.
Sort out the keeper and full backs, a few old heads added, maybe Saito gets his mojo back, the kid from Coventry is able to play, all the good things stay good and all the bad things get better... | | | |

I very much doubt Kelman went for the reported fee. We know from the accounts that Armstrong and Dykes didn’t (£2.2m inc future payments the pair).
And Eze was a hangover sell on from the previous regime. Without it, we’d be up the spout on PSR this coming season. Thankfully we’ll probably be okay. But in by the latest of next off season (2027) we will need some serious sales.
Expect 3-4 signings brought in this summer as frees or on low transfer fees. I’m not sure we’ll sell anyone. The club think they have some assets on their hand who could be worth a lot more in 12 months (presumably if they stay fit…). | | | |
