On the train home. Bwood very hard done by. Played the much better football and shouldâve been further ahead. The clock on the scoreboard malfunctioned so couldnât see how much injury time had been played but it felt an absolute age in what was an already generous six minutes. Also looked a foul to give the bloke the chance to equalise but not seen it back.
Hope theyâve got the kid on the wing, Abdulmalik, signed up for next season. Really interested to see what he can do at a higher level. Very much one for the Peterborough non-league talent pool. | | | |

Abdulmalik was let go by Millwall last season. 23 so not a 'kid' kid but has Burrell pace on him and has a very similar style of play to Chair. Definitely the kind of gem we should be looking at. |  |

Yeah, Rochdale deserved it over the course of the season, undoubtedly. And they are a proper league club. Boreham Wood, if weâre honest, arenât. Theyâre a non-league outfit at the peak of their journey.

Was this on Amazon? I watched a game last week on Amazon and actually quite enjoyed the extra information. Two teams I didn't know much about so it was good to see player names etc. There was of course an option to watch the game without the graphics so it was not like it was being forced on you.
I'm not sure I'd want the graphics in a game I care about like watching QPR though, but for a random game I was passively watching it was good (for me). | | | |

I was at the game yesterday - went as I live just outside B'hawood.
Few points to impart..
1) B'hawood must have one the the most aggy set of fans in the game - lots of 'geezers;' sniffing up and fighting amongst themselves... Blokes with their families and kids seriously being unpleasant. felt sorry for a lot of the kids there...
2) Abdulmalik definitely offered their real and only threat - everytime he got the ball he scared Rochdale's defence to death. When he went off injured, they lost all potency. I don't think he's good enough in his all round play to be of interest, but would look decent in a league 2 side.
3) Think the manager got it wrong at the end - throwing on defensive players to retain the lead back fired - although, it looked like there was a foul in the build up to the equaliser.
4) Parking at Kingsbury and jumping on the tube made iot a 35mi journey door to door. |  | | |

Wouldn't be good for football in Cumbria though.
Without them, the next nearest football league club is Blackpool, a 80 mile drive away. Diversity of football across a geographical spread is important.
I love teams like Truro and Barrow. Used to have a soft spot for Carlisle too. |  | | |

Well yes I wouldn't say this behaviour is strictly limited to Wood fans unfortunately.
I mean I see a lot more warnings these days about drug driving rather than drunk driving. (As an aside, I've not seen any stats on alcohol consumption but I bet it's definitely declining. I don't think the younger generations drink half as much as Boomers/Gen X do). | |

Was pleased for Rochdale, drove past their fans before the York game outside the pub looking upbeat and drove back hours later after the game with them looking incredibly miserable.
In the end it probably turned out to be the greatest end to a season in their history.
Also the other point, it's not just football people are behaving worse. Since covid it's like I've been dropped off at a different universe, most people out and about are absolutely ghastly these days. | | | |

Yeah. That's the biggest issue for successful lower-league sides. Before even they manage to reach the National League. The cost of ground upgrades moving through the lover divisions is prohibitive for most of them. | | | |
