I was only young that day. I vaguely remember watching it on TV and I've got a memory of Bob Hazell heading the ball across for Fenwick to score.
What was more defining a memory was being in school after the replay and some kid going on about how great Hoddle's goal was in the replay and I'm like 'it was a penalty, what's great about that?'
And from that day I hated Spurs, Hoddle, football fans and basically football in general.
Stefan Moore, Stefan Moore running down the wing. Stefan Moore, Stefan Moore running down the wing. He runs like a cheetah, his crosses couldn't be sweeter. Stefan Moore. Stefan Moore. Stefan Moore.

Spent a day going round dodgy units and offices in East London trying unsuccessfully to get tickets. But managed to get a ticket for the replay. We were unlucky that day

I was there for the original and the replay. 1st game we seemed in awe of the big name team. Replay we were the better side but couldn't create enough.
I hope I'm still around the next time we reach an FA Cup final. But , I suspect someone would need to dig me up.
"Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry and narrow-mindedness, and many of our people need it sorely on these accounts. Broad, wholesome, charitable views of men and things cannot be acquired by vegetating in one little corner of the Earth all one's lifetime." (Mark Twain)
Find me on twitter @derbyhoop and now on Bluesky
I still get goosebumps thinking of that day probably why I'm so vocal on here when we toss cup competitions away.
was there with the old man sat half way line on the old bench seats , fenwick scored it was prob the earliest example of limbs going , think i ended up five or more rows further forward than i was before the goal , legs battered to hell has the scars for years afterwards . gutted for the replay , bentest ref in history and arrested for fraud a few years after funnily enough
this weekend is the time for payback , spurs to loose west ham to win by a bad descion by var in the 98th minute , then again ill still hate spurs as much as i hate chelsea
Wore my red adidas away shirt that the team wore for the final. Was 16 at the time. Falklands war was hitting the headlines daily. Stood on the upper tier of the scoreboard end as it was in those days, opposite the tunnel, for some reason loads of Spuds fans in the lower tier of our end which caused a bit of grief to say the least, Rangers supporters using the poles from their banners to spear them.
And yes, the ref got done for fraud a few years later, Clive White. Also happened to keep his fitness up by training with Spurs regularly. Foul on Waddock was as clear as day and no way should the goal we scored in the replay have been called for offside.
Despite losing the replay we stayed and cheered our team who did a lap of honour unlike those classless lot who left at the final whistle last weekend. I knew we would be back and with this team and Venables as manager for the next decade we would add a fair bit of silverware to the trophy cabinet at Loftus Road. Fûck Barcelona!

I was 15, started off in the lower tier, managed to climb up to the upper to join my mates just before kick off. As well as the flagpoles I saw a chicken, and several 4 packs of beer thrown down onto the lower tier, definitely wasn’t a friendly final.
It was a great day out. We headed up to Harrow before the game, for the life of me I can't remember the boozer, might have been the Headstone. Anyway, I'd procured an expensive seat through Dino Ortenzi's dad, who'd got it from the club as the squad had been dining in his restaurant in the previous weeks. At the bar, we bumped into a half a dozen Spurs fans, one of whom had a terrace ticket for our end. After explaining he was likely to get his head kicked in (or even hit with a chicken), we swapped and I was able to stand with my mates. Got a tad iffy walking down Olympic Way, then a full off on the concourse where we were surprised to find a large mob of Spurs giving it big! They got whacked but a good few R's were nicked and a lot more lucky to get a slap and a warning as the coppers were almost overwhelmed. Couldn't believe my eyes when we scored, I can still see it now. Think I drank in the Green Man that night, can't remember.

Was there in-fighting between Ladbroke Grove and the Bush? I seem to remember it kicking off behind me, but can't recall if it was the first game or replay?

Replay; Grove, Notting Hill and abutting environs.
