I only know what's in the public domain, but i've always wondered how he dealt with the possible extortion of the profits from the distribution of his publications.

Moved out of a fantastic stadium that could easily have been worked into a modern ground, into a soulless bowl about which they were made fanciful promises that were never going to be able to be kept. They’re there forever now. Lincoln City at home, in that shthole. The BrewDog DJ Booth, pumping out the hits, for a 1230 kick off against Preston. Brady has been held up as an expert on The Apprentice on the BBC, given a weekly column in The Sun, given a fcking Lordship. and the fans who wanted none of it are left to live with it when these people are long gone (and hopefully locked up).
It’s a v cautionary tale, and it’s why a lot of us hold QPR and the people that run it to account, rather than just accepting what they say and clap along with it.

I think that West Ham got the same for selling Upton Park as they paid for Andy Carroll.
Why not just keep the old ground as insurance if it didn't work out? Let the youth team play there in the meantime.

i think owners and chiefs have their own agendas and ways of doing things and ultimately fans voices and desires only go so far. They can be listened to but the stark reality is its unlikely to ultimately change anything if the board are hell bent on making certain decisions that fans are against.

I don't think many would disagree that Jim Gregory was the best owner we ever had.
Despite that it was his fingerprints all over the Fulham merger (JG was a Fulham fan)
Jim Gregory also tried to merge us with Brentford in the sixties and move us to Griffin Park:

I read somewhere once that Hammersmith & Fulham is one of the smallest local authorities in England and is also the only one with three professional football teams within its boundaries.
I think this is what motivated Jim Gregory to try and pick off our local rivals.
Even when we were the top dogs in West London he was of the view that there were too many clubs in our corner of London for us to become one of the big boys.
He would probably say that moving us to Brentford or making Fulham disappear was what HE thought was best for QPR.
