I think this deserves its own thread because it 'might' have implications for us.
Everton has been ordered to pay Burnley £40m compensation because it's PSR breaches in 2021/22 gave them an unfair advantage over Burnley in the relegation battle that season.
Everton are going to appeal.
I think too much time has passed for Derby to make a similar claim against us, but I will bet they are looking hard at their options
However, Derby's own PSR breach in 2020/21 arguably cost Wycombe relegation that season. So Wycombe might have a case of their own against Derby.

And it’s about time that all PSR rules are scrapped. Worst thing that has ever happened to football. Allows the rich to get richer and the smaller clubs left behind to rot. Let club owners spend what they like and shoulder the debt themselves. If they can afford and are happy to lose millions then that is their right, as long as the club survives. The amount of clubs that get into financial trouble nowadays are no different to the amount of clubs that got into financial trouble in the 70’s and 80’s.
I mean if Man City ever get found found guilty this would surely open them up to action from every team that was denied a chance to compete for the title or the Champions League by then for the last decade?
Is there a time limit on it? Because Derby will surely be sniffing round us and Villa if not?

I thought PSR rules were brought in to prevent the likes of Bury, Macclesfield and others, more recently Sheffield Wednesday, from going bust.
It's more than time that the FA, the PL and the EFL cleaned up their acts and got tough on all those clubs that breach the regulations.
Sure, owners ought to be able to spend whatever they like, but not to the point of driving a club into the ground or distorting the competition so badly it becomes a farce.

football is now no longer decided on the pitch it is all in the courtrooms, where there is money there are lawyers! we all wait, and have been for 2 years, the outcome of the man city investigations and the cover up that will be! chelsea for all their breaches copped a minor 10m fine, nothing to them, strip a league cup take off 15 points, that is a punishment ( they have had many european bans re transfers i think?) what if now wycombe sue derby cos their delayed point off cost them another championship season and money? it will open a can of worms .

Have I missed something but what did we do to possibly cheat against Derby.
The FFP fine we’re still paying off now was because we grotesquely breached the FFP rules of the time in that 2013/14 season which ended with us beating them in the play off final with a wage bill they could never possibly (legally) have had themselves.

I think we're safe from Derby.
Them going into Administration effectively wiped the slate clean.
If I was going to put a time limit I would guess six years because that's the standard limit on financial and contractual disputes.

It’s a perverse, unworkable verdict.
Everton are going to appeal, so let's see what happens.
Every PL place is worth £3m, so in theory every team that Everton took points off that season might decide they have some sort of a claim that's worth pursuing.
Need to see the reasons for the decision before deciding if it's perverse.
It would certainly be unworkable for every team to bring an action. They'll probably contrive some reason why only a big loser like Burnley who got relegated can bring an action.

That is such a big "IF" though. It is an utter scandal tgat Everton get punished TWICE for the same offence whilst the FA procrastinate over the 115 charges and do FA ('scuse the pun) about the flagrant two fingers Chel*** stick up at them constantly.
All our moaning about how unfair the financial rules are is pointless. In true QPR tradition we had two chances to establish ourselves in that cess pit and we failed.

Same applies for City - any club who might want to start an action if they’re found guilty needed to make that known a few years ago now. And a key part of the PL rules that all clubs agree to state that interclub grievances must be resolved at a PL arbitration, not outside action.
QPR promotions would be long time barred by now.
