| Anyone using the Fat jabs on here ? on 15:17 - Jun 11 with 2456 views | loftboy | I’m on Wegovy, was put on a NHS weight loss programme called Oviva after I was unable to exercise regularly due to my arthritic knee, after 3 months of online coaching I had a prescriber call where they started me on the jabs, I was as 133.8 kilos in October , I am now 111.4, I was really sceptical but they do work, the point of the coaching is so that you learn behaviours so when the jabs stop you don’t go back to old habits. I was devastated after losing 45 kilos 10 years ago then gradually put it back on, it took a bollocking from my brother who I hadn’t seen for a while to point out I had got fat again, I was in complete denial! Other than a bit of constipation I’ve had no side affects. [Post edited 11 Jun 15:18]

Problem was she still drank and smoked at the same levels, and practically wasnt ever hungry so hardly ever ate. Tbh she looked and seemed a lot more healthy when she was naturally big and because her diet was awful, she got the sh*ts and was naseous also. You have to still stick to a healthier diet than previous otherwise you can become unwell. Seen a couple of others that know to be on them. One does look better and other likewise although thinner looks way less healthy to me.

There is a young girl who comes in to where I work who was pretty and she's used one or other of them and now has that characteristic tell-tale gaunt face that honestly makes her looks older than someone of my age. That's just one of the immediately obvious side effects but there are other serious ones that may or may not affect a person - and not judging anyone as I can see why it's seen as an attractive option but to me it's like playing Russian roulette with your health.

Online companies are giving them to people who shouldn’t be on them, I know people who don’t qualify via the NHS who buy privately have none of the coaching and support I get. I have an app where I log everything that passes my lips, my weight, blood pressure, my mood, my exercise habits etc. After a bad day at work I marked my mood as low, within ten minutes I received a phone call making sure I wasn’t about to top myself. Did you tell them that you were a QPR fan because that would’ve cut the call time to every 5 minutes. | | | | Login to get fewer ads
| Anyone using the Fat jabs on here ? on 17:45 - Jun 11 with 2004 views | SimonJames | After years of not being able to lose weight I got the MacroFactor app (about £65 per year) and I lost three and a half stone in a controlled and manageable way. I'm now at 15% body fat. And, best of all, I now know how to control my weight healthily (based on facts rather than guesses or drugs). | |

Last line a bit patronising! I had already previously lost 8 stone through diet and exercise, unfortunately due to my health condition this was no longer possible, I’d rather take a drug as a last resort than become obese again.

Sorry, it wasn't supposed to be patronising. Of course there are people who have legitimate reasons to use the drugs (just like my wife has to take metformin for her diabetes). I meant that I was seriously at the stage of trying weight loss drugs, since I believed that I was already doing everything right (turns out that I as way off with my assumptions), but now I don't have to.

The jab definitely works, the weight drops off quickly, however..... You have to change your lifestyle, namely diet and exercise else the weight just goes back on. I've attached an article which explains it. https://www.theguardian.com/so Personally, after suffering from PTSD for 5 years and using drink as my support I now swim twice a week, vegetarian, and only have a couple of beers on a Saturday evening. The weight dropped very quickly, and it's staying off.

| Anyone using the Fat jabs on here ? on 19:50 - Jun 11 with 1656 views | Toast_R | I started taking Mounjaro in April and steadily losing weight. Then my gallbladder imploaded a couple of weeks ago and I've been told not take it until my op to gave the gall bladder removed. Have a 750mg pen worth over £200 in the fridge. Prior to that, over the years I have used meal replacement products like Lighter Life and Cambridge. Lost a few stone quickly every time but the weight always found its way back. I actually associate this practice as a major contributing factor for gallstones I suffer with now. | | | |
