Got to agree. I wouldn't be surprised if we get a couple of double-figure scores in the group stages. Bonkers to be spending so many games just to get from 48 to 32 teams but you could say the same about the 'Champions' League too. Less is more. | | | |

Think for me today was a troubling stat... That if you win your first game you are pretty much guaranteed to qualify for the next stage. Doesnt make the group stages as competitive as they usually are

In the heat I’d argue the opposite. Little incentive for teams to go for it when 3-0 up to a clearly far inferior opponent and the big boys should be taking their key players off once the result is guaranteed apart from maybe the final group game if needing the goal difference to finish top.
Would be annoying if the golden boot comes down to one player sticking five past Curacao. | | | |

Thought the first red was a nailed on red.
Second one I wasn't sure about at the time but I think there was intent there, so fair enough.
Third one I'd say was a thick yellow, didn't think the attacker was directly in on goal (and being two up against nine men, the foul was pretty dumb anyway).
I watched the Korea Czechia highlights this morning, looked to be a better quality match. Korea should have been home and dry by half time, missed so many chances. |  |

Wasn't massively impressed with Mexico either. Fella that scored the goal and number 26 looked alright, but a decent team will just walk through their midfield.
Caught up with the other game this morning. Glad Korea won, played some nice football as opposed to the Czechs who just lobbed the ball in the box and had nothing else.

Hard to judge against such dross and you wouldn’t expect a team to peak on day one but they looked like a team who can be got at if a team reliant on Burnley’s sub striker was getting a fair bit of space the rare times they did have a go. | | | |

This game would have featured Ireland if they beat Czechia and even with millions of Irish Americans living in the US they would not have filled that stadium so those 2 teams had no chance IMO.
Travel in Mexico is hazardous to your health for many reasons but having European teams playing multiple games there is stupid and more FIFA insanity.
The money grab/ seat swapping fiasco is only the tip of the iceberg ,the price gouging from hotels is backfiring thankfully but there is multiple issues across the board .
Its should have been located in one Country with the same currency that way it would be easier to regulate everything . |  | | |
