| The ultimate World Cup thread 22:40 - Jun 11 with 156588 views | Logman | Think we need a designated thread for general World Cup 2026 chat. There only seem to be the England and sweepstake ones so far. Well that opening game got me nodding off nicely. VAR/the laws of the game the talking points as always. Well done FIFA. Not long before the highlights are just a reel of refereeing/VAR decisions. When does the EFL start ? [Post edited 11 Jun 22:41]

Couldn't believe Lukaku is only 33. I was sure he was closer to 40!

They look like a reasonable shout for getting out the group stage. Played well against us in the friendly too

Fun game both teams gave it a decent crack. Disappointed Jesse Randell only came on very late he can play a bit signed for Dundee and interested to see how he develops. On another note there’s been some pretty good shot stopping in these games so far. Gotta be a keeper out there somewhere for us.

Who would have thought taking injury prone players would be costly One severe gust of wind to weetabix Reece James and we have no right back Madness
| And Bowles is onside, Swinburne has come rushing out of his goal , what can Bowles do here , onto the left foot no, on to the right foot
That’s there that’s two, and that’s Bowles

95.34% player availability (including women's squad).

| The ultimate World Cup thread on 21:00 - Jun 16 with 1145 views | BklynRanger | Senegal a bit like their last (I think) pre-tournament opponents Morocco in terms of almost effortless physicality, great ability to close down, lovely style, but that miss at the end of the 2nd quarter I mean half was almost damaging to their morale. Also can we get rid of Girou? Jesus H Christ. | | | |

| The ultimate World Cup thread on 21:06 - Jun 16 with 1106 views | joolsyp | That was a dull first half by the standards of games up to now. Both teams look petrified to lose and the battle is taking place almost entirely in midfield. The surface isn't helping - almost looks like our plastic pitch the way the ball is bouncing around. Perhaps France will bring on Gary Bannister in the second half? | | | |

Suspect both assume they’ll beat Iran and get at least a draw with Norway so both teams happy with a point today
