And regardless of whether they actually got it right or not, I’m glad they went “f*ck it, play on” because that’s what most fans want. He didn’t obstruct the keeper, he didn’t influence the goal as whatever deflection it was didn’t change the direction much. Get on with it.

No English refs used so far either, They seem to use VAR so much better.
They have therse 3d models for offside so can make decsions a lot quicker.
For the goal they seemed to check if he touched it first and he didn't so just gave the goal, doesn't matter if he was offside or not, as you say far better than what we have. |  | | |

I think Scotland are done. Their fans are delirious with the win and I get it, but there's a huge elephant in the room and this is Morocco who will annihilate them with their counter attacks and ball movement and Brazil will also have too much in attack.
Scotland had to wrack up some goals against Haiti to have a chance but they simply don't have the goals in the team and were holding on for a narrow win in the end.
I will be massively impressed if they can get a point from their next two games but I just don't see it. |

I’ve thought about it a lot today and I’m torn between occasion/history just weighing so heavy on them that they couldn’t perform, but also the qualifiers I did watch (particularly the Denmark and Greece games) they do leave themselves insanely open in transition which is what kept occurring last night. You can’t do that against that Morocco side, surely? |
In the qualifiers they were generally hard to break down. Happy to play without the ball, sometimes great on the break - see the 4-2 against Denmark.
Clarke had them play 4 4 2 against Haiti presumably because he expected them to be easier to play against than they turned out to be. That really didn't help and none of the senior players had a good game - the players all admitted the latter.
They'll be back to a normal formation for the next 2 games so hopefully not so terrifyingly wide open. |  |

McTom probably not 100% having had the shits a few days earlier and Haiti were maybe just fairly good though they’ll probably get ripped apart in their other games.
Don’t think the worst teams at this thing will be as bad as people expected. Obviously the result suggests Curacao were dire but Germany have some great attacking players and the first ‘quarter’ was a treat. A few of the real minnows to come though starting this evening. | | | |
