Very sad. I know he may not be everyone's cup of tea, but he has done more for British farms and farmers in the past 4 years with Clarksons Farm than anything else over the past 25 years.
Having worked with dairy farmers for 20 odd years, I know his work raising public awareness has been really appreciated.

Agreed, his series has brought serious and humour to the side of farming. He is as you say very much Marmite, but doesn't pamper to people and is who he is

By all accounts it's fully curable and I'm sure he's getting the best help.
As said, not everyone's cup of tea but what he's done to raise farming awareness is fantastic.
Many moons ago as a kid I used to spend summer holidays camping with my family on a farm in Yorkshire and I got to see first hand how unbelievably hard they work (and how unbelievably they get screwed over by the authorities). Someone on good old social media made a good point...... this would have been filmed around a year ago and as he's still currently posting on tiktok & instagram, things must be OK as we'd have heard otherwise I'm sure. |
Exactly the news broke today as if it has just been announced but as you say this was last year and he's been working since then.
The BBC saying it was prostate cancer but in the series for some reason he didn't want to divulge what type, strange the more people are made aware of prostate cancer the better, I was diagnosed in 2023 and had treatment in 2024.
Must admit I wasn't a fan of Clarkson before Clarkson Farm but he's changed my opinion completely and as previous people have said he's done a great job for raising awareness for farmers and their struggles, he genuinely cares for the farming community. [Post edited 17 Jun 15:29]

I agree raising awareness is key but totally respect the individual on how they want to approach things - there is no right answer and hugely personal.
I went into meltdown for a while but after some counselling realised I wanted to do as much as possible to raise awareness and raise funds for specific research that my Consultant (who was/is amazing) was doing on Prostagram scans.
Clarkson has never done it for me as I find cars a bit boring and I've never seen a single minute of his farming show. I do admire his attitude and quite like him for that.
Even if I didn't I would wish him all the abolsute best of British with his battle and hope the absolute medical geniuses we have in GB can work their magic on him. |  |

Also Ciara Mageean Irelands top 1500 meter runner and current European Champion from 2024 who instead of running in Paris trying for Olympic gold last summer now has terminal bowel cancer .
So heartbreaking for her obviously and her family and every person who tied on a pair or running shoes pretty cruel if there is no way back.

Top Gear always felt like a small boys club, but I'm no petrolhead. With Clarkson's Farm, Jeremy always comes across as a bit of an idiot. But he's raised awareness of British farming and the problems facing the industry. But I would never wish him any ill will, quite the contrary.
A long standing friend, and QPR ST holder dies from prostate cancer in April so I have an idea of what he has to go through. Hopefully, in his case, they've caught it in time. |  |
