Aside of Mrs PH getting misty-eyed upon hearing the Canadian national anthem outside a bar, resulting in us watching the first half, I've avoided this Corrupt FIFA/MAGAland event on principle.

I've no sympathy for anyone paying way-over-the-odds for it all! What you're doing, is stretching the elastic for FIFA to fleece fans even more in the future. Preferred to spend my money on a donation to #Reboot instead.

I'm still undecided about tonight, I suspect I will watch. But when we have the ad break...sorry, drinks break, I'll be swearing at the box.

Really not bothered with it and as soon as England are out, it can do one!! The thought of a grinning C3PO agreeing with Mango Musolini that, 'They tell me after the totally great UFC, the best event, EVER!, that this was the greatest World Cup, totally great, EVER, which I delivered', is repugnant.

#FifaIsntFootballAnymore which I offered up to the good people at #Reboot by the way 😉

I love the World Cup, club football is all about who has the most money, this feels like the last pure football tournament left on the pitch at least, players playing for glory not the money.
I know off the pitch it's an absolute shambles of course which puts a lot of people off.

Also there is no ads break during the drinks break on British TV, ITV decided not to run ads during this despite having the option.

Team playing in white apparently Colin.

About time England had a lilac kit. Heard its the in thing nowadays with a lot of progressively forward thinking clubs opting for these shades of pastel !!!

Gnistan v Lahti in the Finnish Veikkausliiga looks intriguing (7pm KO). Anyone able to talk me through this VPN business? Don’t think there’s much else happening.

Boring as hell.
Coaching today leaves an awful lot to be desired.
Everybody is playing like everybody else.
This World Cup is up for grabs.

I'll make this prediction now: quarters will become a thing!

Admittedly rebadged as Bovril breaks in winter, but the expected adrevenue will drive this. The drop for viewing at HT won't happen do much for the quarter breaks, which will be an advertisers wet dream.

Thanks Gianni and Dozy Don.

Excellent post there Dave its a huge success despite the price gouging and ticket fiasco .
Look at Scotland drinkin Boston dry, Netherlands drinking Houston dry with no hint of trouble and all other nations bringing thousands of fans its eletric.
The games have mostly been good and its only the league part wait until the knockout stages it will be incredible.
Once again if anybody on LFW has the money and the time England will be playing up to 5 or 6 more games IMO get a visa and come over here you will have the best time ever
