when I was a kid, about 14 a few of snuck in to see the Emmanuelle movie one afternoon. Somehow we got in but after about 5 minutes 2 people walked out. Not because they were disgusted by the sex in the film, but because they were 2 of our teachers. Obviously having a bit of a fling. They spotted us in there and made a hasty retreat.
True story. They were very nice to us for the rest of the term. It was never mentioned.
I used to go to the cinema fairly religiously. These days I find it very difficult to get worked up about film.
Perhaps it's better to use a rule that Chinese author Yu Hua applies to books:

I've never walked out of the cinema. I did pay to rent The Spirit (a 2008 neo-noir superhero film) and turned that off after 20 minutes. I think we did the same with the film Nurse Betty starring Renee Zellweger. F**king toilet from what I remember.
The only live thing I ever walked out of was a Richard Herring comedy gig. I'd seen him before and he was alright but we went to one of his shows in Manchester once and it was so rubbish that at the interval I asked the wife if we should go and she couldn't wait to get out of there. He was absolute shit.
These days comedy tix are like £40 or something, so I'd probably gut it out now.

When I was at primary school I took my then girlfriend on a cinema date to see The Mission with Robert De Niro etc. We walked out after about an hour as it really isn’t the sort of thing you should take your 10 year girlfriend to see on a date!
I watched it again about 6 months ago on catch up and it is a bit crap.

That said, Skinamarink is the worst film ever made. It's got literally no merit.

one from years ago , the emerald forest went up west with the then girlfiend utter tosh , left about 25 mins in she made up for it later in the evening so the night wasnt a terrible idea
in recent years the last Bond Movie how to ruin a legacy in one fell swoop , the stupidly long start , Bond showing his emotional side , utter BollAx and im a huge huge bond fan from they started. give me gadgets double meanins not bond sheding a tear oh and last part of the rant who idea was remi malik for the baddie ?
I got what they were trying to do with the recent Bonds but they weren't great. A bit like with Superman, they had a pretty good actor but they squandered it on mediocrity.
I remember a lot of people walking out of Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon as soon as they realised it had subs. They should do that for the first ten minutes of every film in the cinema. Filter out some scum that way.

It was agony, torture, endless self pitying gunge, I was begging for the bloody Woman to get a move and f cking die but no she kept waking up every bloody morning making the pox ridden film go on for what seemed like an eternity. I kept asking if we could leave but the Mrs kept replying ''No shut up'' I had to suffer untold over acting from Two wax work actors for nearly 2 hours. When Ali MacGraw finally conked out In the film I had to restrain myself from cheering.

Try taking grandchildren to see Sonic the Hedgehog 2, not having seen the original. What on earth possessed anybody to make a 2nd chapter. I think they enjoyed it, I was bored to tears but had to stay put.

Went to see Footloose with a friend of mine back in 85 or when it came out but it was sold out. Next door had a movie called Back To The Future and the place was completly empty so we went inand watched it I actually really enjoyed it .Fast forward 40 years ( Jesus Christ where did that time go )and my 3 young adult kids still watch portions of all 3 espiceally the Western saga its so stupidly funny they are dying laughing still. I walked out of so many movies over the years for multiple reasons including ignorant people plus just bad sound lighting seating etc.
