I think we need a separate social media message board/bored on here.. I dislike the twitter obsession nowadays but its a reality of our present.. infact its dominating things on here a bit.. Im not saying its irrelanvant but I do pine for the old days where people talked about football rather than what the players are thinking right this second..

maybe we can have a separate section for it along with "rumours" or something?

There isn't the potential for another sub board on the site as it uis now, and I've always avoided splitting the board up into different forums because you inevitably get one that's used more than the others and big arguments about threads that should be moved from one place to another. It doesn't work IMO, the more sub forums you have the worse your message board gets.

That said I totally agree with what you're saying. The solution, IMO, is...
1 - Stop starting a new thread everytime Joey Barton tweets. Glance down the board, there's a thread there already I'm sure, just add to that.
2 - I shall up my game a bit and start deleting when people do start a new thread when they can just add to another one.

It should be pretty easy to keep the Joey Barton just tweeted... stuff to a couple of threads. That way people can avoid it if they want and it won't dominate the board.

Clive has his own way's of dealing with things in an adult manner and as infraction pt's have made a well known other QPR forum a complete joke I don't think we will be following suit.

Hence real_loftus' tongue-in-cheek remark.

Would this mean threads about Heather Graham would be banned?
Not sure that would work.

1) Barton's tweet
2) Transfer gossip
3) The inevitable Stadium thread

No it's not. Stickies can get annoying as they sit at the top, even when they're not being used. Just read the threads you want to. There are loads of football related threads today. The ones that say the word "twitter" in should give you an idea what they're about.

TW Clive runs this site which I think we are all aware about.

I was meaning us as in us on this board.
I'm am part of this board and us means we all bat for the same team.

".... we all bat for the same team"

So tempting... but nah.

I've been on other boards where sub-forums work, but I don't think it works for football - how do you split things up? "Does this go in the 'match day' forum or 'starting XI' forum?" It would be daft

The fact that this board has traditionally been so readable is down to the efforts of Clive moderating it on his tod and the self-management of the posters - people in the past have been pretty good about reading what's already been written and adding their comments to an existing thread if there is one.

how about a bit of LFW merchandise in the site shop???

Always fancied a LFW t-shirt..

I think there may be some members who like a little bit of discipline....... if you know what I mean.......

I was thinking about this very thing today, but it seems that sub-forums are out. So, all of you folks keen on discussing JB's latest twits are going to have to show some restraint and just post about it on one fascinating super-thread.

..... or, even better IMO, just stop paying it any attention at all.

‘morbid curiosity about where this is all going’

Even better, IMO, just sign up to Twitter and communicate with the man himself if you feel the need to engage. @Joey7Barton, in case anyone in the world doesn't know yet.
