At last some sense about Muamba 08:51 - Mar 23 with 2388 viewsGloryHunter

On 5Live now. The outpouring of public emotion, and asking us all to pray - it's been reminding me of Princess Diana's death.

Nice anecdote about the Spurs game, Gareth Bale going down holding his foot, and someone shouting, "Let me through, I'm a chiropodist".

I am glad the lad is on the mend but it has all gone way to far now and getting a little bored with it now.

Because, as the great Tweeter-in-Chief himself would surely say, at the end of the day, nobody has died.

Could'nt agree more with you, Gloryhunter. Its become way over the top and needs to calm down. The idea that Bolton may not play on Saturday is frankly ludicrous. The guy has my sympathy, as would anyone in that position I became aware of, but thats it.

I'm very interested in Near Death Experiences(hell I've been an R's supporter for fifty years),and I'll be very interested what he experienced during those 70+ minutes of cardiac arrest. It's usually the same story, and I've heard it from little kids, about going into a bright light and then being greeted by lost loved ones.Knowing my luck I'll meet Ray Harford banging on about they only pay Route One up there because of the altitude.

I believe every single one of us has great sympathy for Muamba and his family, however it is the mawkish, vicarious grief that is so difficult to deal with.

While the circumstances have raised public awareness of Cardiac Arrest issues (as opposed to heart attack issues) rather than wallowing in some kind of pityfest If there was to be any end product, positive outcomes of direct support for defibrillators in public places http://epetitions.direct.gov.uk/petitions/7293, better testing of cardiac function for all youngsters (not just the talented elite) then that would be laudable.

Just say no to the Liverpool disease.

Kerry Packer had a heart attack playing polo, and couldn't be revived for eight minutes.

In a press conference he later remarked on his temporary oblivion "I’ve been to the other side and let me tell you, son, there’s f***ing nothing there...there’s no one waiting there for you, there’s no one to judge you so you can do what you bloody well like".
