If that is the case then I really do doubt the mental faculties of Barton. Up til now I'd say he was volatile, charismatic, driven etc etc but if he agrees to play for Fleetwood for 6 months then he really must have a screw that is so lose it's in danger of falling out completely.
6 months takes him to the end of February does it not. Once he's played out his 12 match ban shirley he could be back playing in the Premiership earlier than February?? And Fleetwood Town???? All that rubbish about him falling back in love with football in the lower leagues. A few months ago he was saying he deserved to play for England. I think he is close now to becoming an official laugh stock.

I don't think he has a clue what he's doing.
It will almost certainly be a loan until January. Same bloke who broke the story thinks Barton will want to stay though. Fair play to Barton for deciding he'd rather get out and play some football with his mates rather than training with the kids at QPR.

I wonder if there will be a call-back clause? i.e. 6-month loan to make it look official, but a call back at the begining of October???
Loans can be recalled after the first month. If he goes to Fleetwood we could recall him as soon as he's missed 12 games, and maybe played a couple of games to get match fit, ie mid October.

If that happens, then IMHO both QPR and Fleetwood (or any club who takes part in this) should be given a 10-point penalty for bringing the game into disrepute. If the FA's rules have a loophole that allows things like this to happen, then those rules need to be re-written."
